This is half correct. It is true that these particular ones are likely on the crappier side accd to *recent* reviews.
However, I've had many very reliable lightning cables that were dirt cheap. The most "expensive" cable i got is a dynex 3' one for $2. The EU is forcing Apple to switch to usb-c by 2024... Meaning that the 2022 iPhone 14 is likely the last phone with this connector. These cables will be 5 for $1 very very soon.
Since when did amazon stop 2 day shipping for prime? Says extended delivery time. Ugh!
Right around the start of Covid they started saying shipping could take longer because of everything going on. I think they've taken advantage of it and let the delays become the norm now that people are used to it. Possible to still get it in 2 sometimes but I don't think they guarantee it any more. Standard deviation creep. BS in my book.

Same reason for some of this inflation. There were ripples in the supply chain due to covid, no doubt. But that's being ridden and hid behind while several large corporations turn sky rocketing profits. Those profits aren't my opinion btw, they're publicly reported.

There are strong reasons to switch to wireless charging entirely and make devices waterproof. USB-C isn't a done deal. Regulators dictating design choices is always a bad idea. If you don't like the Lighting connector, buy an Android device.
According to the Apple MFI License App these are certified; now are they knock-offs as Amazon is known to sell, idk, but "Hi Mobiler USB Charging & Sync Cable Hi-MC02 Cables, Chargers & Docks 716172980094" are listed as certified.
I guess for this price I shouldn't expect USB-C but I would love it. Thinking about the desire for USB-A had me meh but I guess I can get some for my kids to take to their mom's because she is too cheap to buy them unless their at the checkout at walgreens.
