I checked with them. They dont offer money account anymore. So no option to open just checking account. Both checking and saving accounts will be open with an application.
Why you guys just want to open checking only? I am curious

For the balance promotional reward = Transfer (aka Balance Growth) Period: Bonuses are determined by account balance growth between 8/31 - 9/30
Maintenance Period: The Balance Growth is to be maintained in the account between 10/1 - 11/30
Payout Period: All Members who meet the requirements will be paid between 12/1 - 12/14
