I would get this but I don't want to be slumming it with a cheap old tripod. Spend a little more and get the model with latches.

I always get sticker shock when looking at higher end tripods.

all about weight and capabilities... in the end, if u got 10k worth of camera and glass on... this is an easy investment for a pro.

With all the 600mm f/4 hand holdable, around 3kg (except Nikon but you have 800mm), those gilbals are for waiting for bird to take off or motorsport situations.

Looking for all in one travel tripod, this thing is great except the weight. Tripod alone weighting 9.24 lb (4.2kg) and another 2.86 lb (1.3kg) for the head which is 13lb(5.5kg) total also it doesn't pack small ☺️☺️

I thought that too, but I think 5.5kg is for the whole package (bag and extras). The tripod itself: "The E6L's 10kg load capacity and 2.43kg (5.36lbs) weight makes it an excellent choice for the outdoor adventurer who needs a tripod tough enough to go anywhere."

Of course, add the couple pounds for the gimbal too. I still think it's too heavy overall for a travel tripod.

This. This is pro only slick deal. My alert went off on the gimbal feature. Nothing to see here for your average tripod joe.

If this is what you need, yes, it's worth it. It's just relatively big and heavy.

I still have hopes that I will find my 3 legged thing that mysteriously vanished. This seems to heavy but can someone make recommendations? I don't take my camera out as often as I used to.
