Well we can't actually afford to knock on wood considering the wood prices. Knock on plastic!

Everytime there is a deal for a hard drive, there is always someone that champions one brand over another claiming they had issues with specific brands.

If anyone really cares about this, this is real data from data center:

Great deal if you can get it at a local store. The closest store that has it is 22 miles away. I really don't want to spend the time to drive 44 miles.

As for Seagate? I have a Seagate in my PS4 and it works great. I used a 2TB Seagate hard drive. All my other hard drives are WD but 1 toshiba and they all work awesome. I never had a WD fail on me.

Holy $hit... some of those Seagate large hard drives have horrible reliability 3TB drives (23% - 43%). The 4TB drives so far are okay.

Oos, however the 5gb is 85, 5 bucks cheaper than Costco. The 4gb is $16.75 per terabyte, the 5gb is $17 per terabyte. Plus I used a 10 dollar off 50 coupon

That is usually the case for everyone. Just that brand name changes. For me it was exactly opposite. I am sure just black magic happens with first drive(irrespective of brand).
Yep, all luck of the draw. I only have three hard drives die on me ever. All three were WDs. An 8TB, 500GB, and the infamous IBM Deathstar (WD association: Hitachi purchased IBM HD division then WD purchased Hitachi).

most of my hard drives are wd and samsung with a few hitachi and toshiba.

i bought my first seagate 8tb and it failed after a day. that has never happened to any other hard drives i've used.

either that's a crazy coincidence or high failure rate with seagate.

Nope. I had an 8TB external Seagate and my son's 4TB Seagate for his XBox both went out within the first 2 years. Then Seagate sends you a refurbished drive that will go out again shortly after the warranty ends. I'm staying away from their external drives for a while.

Also, there are no current $10/$50 or $15/$75 targeted Circle offers right now. I'm not sure what these other people are talking about.

I have bought a lot of lottery tickets. Never won. I bought my first one at the new store. Won my first one. Either that's a crazy coincidence or there is high success rate buying at that store.

I really like the price, but Seagate ALWAYS fails. I have never had a WD fail. I've had every Seagate, but one fail me. 😥

you should probably stop gambling if you're losing more than you're winning...
