Purchased my mower back in 2016 and still running that 5.0 with a solid amount of life still in that battery.

Mine came with a 7.5 but I will use the 5.0 when I forget to charge the 7.5. Probably around 35-40 min runtime, but I also don't let my grass get crazy long before cutting it.
Own a bunch of Ego tools and batteries; no complaints regarding dependability so far, my oldest batteries are about 4 years old and still holding a decent charge knock on wood

Try tweeting them. I did and got a new battery. Mine was still under warranty but was down to half capacity. It took a little back and forth but they eventually did the right thing.
When done, I just put the battery on the charger (in basement) and leave it there until I need it again... Zero maintenance so far, though I may get a new set of blades after this season...

Thanks! My ego is now about 5 yrs old. I ordered the parts (about $70 total) to make it dual high lift blade. Hopefully it doesn't ruin my battery run time.
The other big names like Milwaukee, Dewalt, and Makita don't really charge less per AH on their batteries. They don't even have batteries as big as Egos in their lineup.
So, unless you are willing to sell items from those other brands, and settle with their inferior outdoor tools, not a good route.
I'm not saying every tool they have is inferior in the outdoor tool realm, but most are.

I had to look it up and I'm at just under 5 years with my Ego mower. I have the 5.0 battery (this was before the 7.5 even existed). I've since also purchased the blower with a 2.5 battery - and the powerhead kit with a weed trimmer, edge trimmer, pole saw, and cultivator attachments.
The mower and batteries haven't given me any issues yet. I did have a powerhead/multi-head that died on me last year, but I'm buying another one because I have all of the attachments and they work really, really well for my less than 1/2 acre.

That Hart cordless mower with 6ah bat @ $128 shipped works great and typical of the non-Ego future.

If others prices go down for lawn tools, Ego's will too, to be competitive. Even on a good deal from Milwaukee earlier this summer, it was 199 for the trimmer, 8 ah battery, and charger, and you had to return an extra battery to get that price. Ego regularly has their trimmer combo for around 170, and it doesn't melt batteries, like Milwaukee, and is rated by every website that I have seen as better.
Yes, Dewalt, Milwaukee, and Makita have good deals, but you have to flip stuff. Dewalt is mostly a joke in the lawn equipment world, though. Ego's blower is almost 50 percent faster than Milwaukee's new double battery blower. That is a joke. How much will that blower cost with two big batteries and charger, to still be that inferior? I take it you don't care about performance too much, either.
Ego 5 Ah battery is cheaper, second hand new, than Milwaukee. People sell a 5 ah Ego for around 175. It has 280 total watt hours. Milwaukee 12 ah sells for a little more, and is less watt hours at 216. No, thanks.

Those aren't used batteries I was referring to. You should know that by the price. It is people who buy a tool and battery combo, and sell their battery for less than the store.
I would guess you are a DIYer. Therefore, if you use your Ego batteries every weekend, as opposed to your carpentry batteries when you have occasional projects, obviously the Ego batteries will not last as long.
I love how you ignore the fact that Ego still has good deals. There is a blower deal for a blower on Slickdeals, right now, that is more powerful than Milwaukee's current 1 battery Fuel blower. If you sold the Ego battery, second hand, the blower would come out to be about 95 dollars. That is about 5 dollars more than the typical hack deal for the Fuel blower at Home Depot. If you want to settle for crappy specs over 5 dollars, I won't stop you from being a fool. I referenced the Milwaukee deals on HERE, again. The Fuel blower has been about 85 or 90 dollars, best price, after Home Depot hack.
