Not really a great deal. Between the overheating, weak wireless connectivity, and poor battery life I don't think it's worth this price. Google Tensor and Samsung Modem seems to work terribly together. You might as well get the 6a and save money for the same experience.

I have a regular pixel 6. The fingerprint reader sucks. And the connectivity issues are definitely there. But that doesn't happen enough for me to get two aggravated. But the fingerprint reader is just terrible.

This...

I have one and this is the first phone that I've wanted to throw out a window.

FWIW, my experience with the fingerprint reader is exactly the opposite: with S21 I had to constantly moisten my thumb to get a good read which was super annoying to say the least. Nothing like that with 6 Pro - works like a charm every time (both phones had protective screen on)

Good phone but has a fragile screen. Feels hollow. Got one for my wife at launch and a month later she set it down on our coffee table and the screen basically popped, cracked straight across the entire phone. Replacement she dropped once and upper left is all black, few cracks but still usable. Both always in a case.

I owned both the S22 Ultra and the Pixel 6 Pro at the same time. If there was a phone with Samsung's latest hardware and the Pixel software experience I would be in heaven. At the end of the day if I had to pick one it would be the Pixel 6 pro as that's what I'm currently typing on using Verizon. BTW - As someone else said the Pixel 6 Pro on ATT was subpar but on T-Mobile and Verizon it's been a very good experience.

I'm not a marketing professional, but dumping 6 pro for $649 when you just released 6a for $449 does not feel wise.
Did you see the difference in specs? They aren't the same.

6a is not a viable option for anyone considering some kind of flagship, to me - no wireless charging is a deal breaker.

i've had a regular pixel6 for a month now and have no major issues with the fingerprint reader. sometimes i have to adjust my finger position but i had to do that with the physical reader on my pixel 3 as well. i did add my main finger twice though as some have recommended so maybe that could work for you.

This is the best phone I've used. Maybe I'm lucky to get a good phone. I used mostly Samsung phones before switching to this one. Excellent pics and best plain android.

Dropped mine yesterday face down on pebble driveway and cracked the screen on my P6P, wanted to trade it in for 7 but now i don't know what to do in terms of fixing it or rolling the dice with trade-in value with a small crack in the screen. Never cracked a screen before with a case but pebble driveways are unforgiving!

Here's to hoping that the algorithm used to improve recognition doesn't come at the sacrifice of security/accuracy.

The Android 13 beta update seemed to fix more of the issues with the fingerprint reader. It still doesn't work the best outside in direct sunlight but seems to work fine inside.

The Secret Sauce(tm) is to press on the glass really hard and long between each lift of the finger. It improves to about 80% success rate.

For real. My wife had the pro and I had the regular 6 for about 3 months before we got in on a trade in deal to get s22 ultras. I've had pixels from 1-3 and was excited about the 6 but Google really let me down. The phone's connectivity issues basically made it a brick.

I have the pro and the fingerprint sensor works well. The wireless connectivity was initially frustrating, very frustrating. I switched to LTE as the preferred connection and have far fewer issues.

I'd go for 6a and wait it out to see if issues are fixed in the 7 series, then wait for a good trade-in deal where you can get most if not all of your 6a value in the trade, provided the 7 is worth it. Can live with 60hz and no wireless charging for 3-6 months, and avoid paying more for a 6 or 6 Pro hat has various known issues.

Also available at target for the same price. 9to5 Google actually reported it's down to less than $300 in some Markets, like Florida. https://brickseek.com/target-inve...80-06-3649 [brickseek.com]
https://9to5google.com/2022/08/13...rance/amp/ [9to5google.com]
I too looked up my local Targets after reading that article. They had just 1 in stock, but still selling at $649.
