Not really a great deal. Between the overheating, weak wireless connectivity, and poor battery life I don't think it's worth this price. Google Tensor and Samsung Modem seems to work terribly together. You might as well get the 6a and save money for the same experience.
I have a regular pixel 6. The fingerprint reader sucks. And the connectivity issues are definitely there. But that doesn't happen enough for me to get two aggravated. But the fingerprint reader is just terrible.

The time machine required to get that price on the 6a kills the deal tho
The Pixel 6A trade-in deal via the Google Store is good through September 24th which gives you $300 for your trade-in (as a refund). The phone is pretty amazing imo (having owned Pixel/Nexus phones). Any heating issues resolved within a week after it learned my usage patterns and deprioritized apps I don't use. The cellular connection was perfect in general. However, there were three instances where I had to toggle airplane mode on and off after leaving my home because the data was completely unusable. I read Android 13 comes with network/connectivity and battery improvements so I'm hoping that'll resolve the connectivity issue that required me to toggle airplane mode on/off. I have no issues with battery life or heating however like all phones it will get warm during charging.
Phones eligible for $300 Trade-In:
Google Pixel 3a
Google Pixel 4, 4XL, 4a
Google Pixel 5
Apple iPhone 7, 7 Plus
Apple iPhone 8, 8 Plus
Apple iPhone SE (2nd Gen)
Given how they were able to eventually resolve the majority of issues for the 6 via software updates, I imagine the Pixel 7 (with the Tensor 2 chip) is going to be a very solid offering since they learned from all of the mistakes they made on the Pixel 6 which uses the original Tensor chip paired with the Samsung modem. It's also rumored the Pixel 7 body will be made from ceramic which should run cooler than all of the non-ceramic phones.

Anyone knows who I can contact to trade in my brand new pixel 6A? I don't like it and it's not on the list to trade in unfortunately. I'm even okay with getting credit for Pixel 5A that's on the list but I just want to make sure they don't send my 6A back
I've had a non-pro Pixel 6 for 2 weeks and updated to Android 13 beta as soon as I got it. The finger print reader is terrible, but other than that I have not had any issues. Maybe most of the issues have been solved with software updates, or maybe I haven't had it long enough to notice, but I don't think these the Pixel 6's are as bad as some are making them out to be.

I've noticed some of the third party retailers like Best Buy, Sam's Club, Costco, and similar allow slightly different and non-conventional (like super-recent phones) trade-ins previously. Can't say what they're doing now but it's a place to start. The Google Store also tends to change policies from time to time too, so you might also contact their support and see if they'll give you an offer. Having a Pixel 6 Pro myself, though, if you're irritated with the intermittent fingerprint reader and the lousy cellular radio reception, you won't be happy with a 6 or 6 Pro either. The Pixel 7 is reportedly coming out the second week of October and is supposed to have the next generation Tensor chip. That's probably a better bet if you can hold out.

The software it came with out of the box felt kind of ass. The update made it a much better phone. Android 13 Beta improved it some more. Doesn't feel any different than the S21Ultra, performance wise, at this point. Chip still gets a little warm when it gets pushed, but nothing terrible. Cellular is rock solid, better than the S21U, in fact. I run two lines, so I'm using them concurrently right now.

Thanks much for the update, wasn't expecting them to already come out with another model but then again I don't know how long this phone has been out. Cheers!
I feel so bad and I'm a sucker who paid full price for this phone using pre-order just after the release, Google sold me the hype.
It has less performance than a good Snapdragon 888 phone. And mysterious battery drain.
Camera is good for still images, but video process is not on bar with other 800-1000 dollar phones.
As an owner of a Pixel 6 Pro that is currently under warranty repair, do your research. Clean OS for sure but hardware wise this isn't it. My phone never had any physical damage yet the camera lens mysteriously cracked. Took over 2 weeks to get it repaired. Still with the quick battery drain, average to bad fingerprint sensor, and an annoying curved edge screen that means no screen protectors will work perfectly.
They need to not do an all glass body next time as well, very slippery phone. The 7 might have ceramic backing which might be worth waiting for. Ended up switching back to the 5, best phone ever. Unlimited photo uploads in standard quality as well.

I have one and this is the first phone that I've wanted to throw out a window.
