I miss going to bookstores and browsing for a while, selecting a few books and just paying for them.
They actually got their costs down and actually are turning a profit. Not as much as they like. I actually drag my kid there to get a book so he has to read it and the prices for Manga and other stuff beats Amazon and other retailers alot of times or just that they have it.
$13 for a hardcover is a great price. Hardcovers are usually at a minimum $20

Is that website layout totally broken for anyone else?
Definitely seems to have issues on Android. Can't actually buy anything for one. Just says checking availability for pickup and never comes back. All plugins disabled for the site. 🤷 ♂️
We have giraffes can't dance. My 3yo and 4 yo love it. Have had it for a couple years now and it still gets picked from their "library" of about 75 books on a weekly basis
I might be in the minority here, but I'm Still happy to see BN stores around. Outside of a library, its a great place to take our kids where books are the main attraction, so they can experience what its like to walk into & touch real books beyond a brown box at my front door, Before they're all gone.
I wonder if Barnes and Noble B&M stores are also having red sticker clearance sale? I try to buy used books, in general, but BN is good because you usually can find discounted gift cards for BN.
We go there just to spend an evening with out 3 year old. We all love books and it's a nice change of pace.
We would certainly rather go to an independent store, but they're much further away. We support them through their efforts with our library system when they hold author events and sell books then.
Stocked up on a few books available at my local BN, including the leather bound GoT book. But I can confirm the website sucks on mobile. I couldn't submit payment info. Went to my laptop, cart was still in my account, checked out there.

Is something stopping you from doing that? I still have quite a few stores in my area. I haven't heard of the large stores closing en masse but I could have missed something.
