Sharpen mower blades..
These are much easier esp for non pros to use.

Flap disks will slightly round the edge(can be mostly negated with technique) but Grinding wheels will overheat(blue) the blades in spots if you arent VERY careful.

So IMO these are better.. as well as faster.
RE mower blades, a few minutes on each side with a good mill bastard file is typically all you need. Unless you have lots of nicks maybe, in which case, yeah maybe something like this. Then the filing bit to finish.

But there's got to be lots of better applications for this set of flap discs than sharpening mower blades.

I usually sharpen 9-12 at a time. Heavy field use.
Plenty of uses.. but for me I only use them on mower blades
and cleaning up some quick and dirty stick welding on the mower decks.
I weld so infrequently its pretty ugly (lol) I dont think the grass cares.

Can I use this to smooth a cast iron skillet?
Sure, you can sand most anything with these.

I regularly use flap discs on my cordless grinder, it's about half the speed of corded so you get less aggressive sanding which can be controlled easier. Works nice for brake rotor refacing on your car during brake pad replacement.

I used a flap disc today to sand down the bottom of an aluminum storm door that was dragging. It worked great. I'm definitely buying these!

These discs are just insanely great, I bought them last time and I used them so many times in different scenarios while remodeling my new place.

If you are stripping a deck coating, you are going to need one or two of these. And a lot of patience

I bought a pack of 40 and 60 grits in 2018 for the same price. Still have some as I don't have a lot of use for the coarse grits. I found them to be good for my needs. Most recently I was having a hard time using a planer to shave off some wood. Took out the grinder with one of these and it was a matter of seconds. It took longer to change the wheel of the grinder.

Edit: I had to use a different email. Apparently, I used the same code in 2018!

No idea what is this for buy got one, so what can I use it for and does it help with gunsmithing ?
Technically yes. I used one of these to grind a fat chamfer on a barrel nut so that a micro gas tube could clear the edge. Anything that's going to need to be even remotely precise? Doubtful.
