It's worth noting that this is actually a 'new' game - released this week for MK's 30th anniversary exclusively on GOG.
Even though I already own the Mortal Kombat Arcade Collection on Steam, that was delisted years ago, and it seems as if I have a little bit more difficult of a time getting it running every time I have to reinstall, so having something more up to date without DRM might just justify the purchase to me.
From reading up a little, this version comes with some new additional stuff too:
- 32 immediately playable characters plus 4 classic characters
- New Brutalities let you pound opponents 'til they explode!
- 7 humiliating Stage Fatalities that send defeated opponents pummeling out of the arena to a grizzly death!
- Added Baraka and Raiden to UMK 3
- made the bosses playable
- featured the secret fighter Chameleon
The Arcade Versions of MK3 and UMK3 are completely different, slower, much more balanced games than MK Trilogy (Saturn, N64, PSX and PC versions).
If you'd like a suggestion, consider that the Saturn, PSX and PC versions as an MK Trilogy game, while N64 version is also yet another different game altogether compared to its other console counterparts.

Oh yeah I've already got both MK3 and UMK3 on the playlist, I just wanted a version of MKT on it as well.
It made front page because of VIEWS and UPVOTES. That is how algorithms work.
The original N64 release had a critical flaw. If you used Shang Tsung and won a round while transformed into someone else it froze the game - every damned time.
Needless to say I was incredibly frustrated by this, they released a revision after the initial release, my release as far as I know was rare. Still think there should have been a program to exchange the cart over that....
Also, anyone know if this is closer to the N64 or Playstation version? It seems like there were quite a few differences. I wasn't a Playstation fan during that era because I hated load times, but it seemed like the Playstation had more characters.

Bought it BTW, I had MK 1-4 already on GOG, so I got the additional $2 off....
