wow. I've been on Mint Mobile, so I'm not used to these kinds of prices. $60/month is the CHEAPEST plan. It's not clear to me if you have to be on AT&T for X number of years to get this discount. Like is it a bill credit for something like 2 years, and if you quit the plan, you have to pay the balance of the cost of the phone?

What does that mean you can just "buy it out"? It's $200 w/ activation...but they don't list any "buy out" price.

Since I don't have AT&T, they won't let me do it online with a new line. They said I had to go to the store and do the ordering/activating.

But I have a question. If I want to port my T-Mo # to new line with AT&T, will I be able to use my phone with T-Mo until I get the new phone?

If you port your number from T-Mobile to AT&T then it will be att number. Why are you asking about using phone with T-Mo?
There is high possibility that this phone will lock to what ever carrier sim you first use it on

Let me rephrase my question. My plan is to port my T-Mo phone to AT&T as a new line so I can get the price of $199 for the Flip 3. If I can do that, will my T-Mo phone number be at AT&T right away that I can't use my T-Mo line anymore once I checked out. Or I can still use my T-Mo line until I get the new phone shipped from AT&T in how ever many days for them to ship to me?

Most likely no. ATT will send phone and SIM card and instructions to activate once you receive. After you activate the port process will start which can be quick(usually) to 1-2 days.

I am almost sure that the porting process will start only after you activate the device. Until then your number will be active on t-mobile. I ported a GV number for this deal. I can still use the Google voice number and see it in my GV account.

Few months ago I ported a GV number to Google fi and the porting process started after the Phone was activated.

And if you do a google search for this query most of the forums say the same.

just to double check, could I go into best buy get this phone for $199.99 with 1 month of AT&T and decide not to continue using their overly expensive plan after the first month has been charged?

Thanks. That makes more sense since I will be out of a phone for several days if my T-Mo # gets deactivated right away.
