Even as an older desktop, this Dell should handily outperform the J4125 Acer. CPU Mark scores are almost double for the i5-6500 versus the J4125. However, the J4125 offers lower power consumption, higher SSD and RAM interface speeds, newer architecture, and Windows 11 compatibility, although it's not upgradeable. You can generally pick up a 6th gen desktop on Ebay ready to go for less than $100, if you keep an eye out for the right deal. I would strongly recommend that you stay away from anything with a spinning drive though; they're pretty much the kiss of death for modern PC performance, and only viable for cheap bulk storage these days.
