Non curve is fantastic for office work and productivity.
For anyone on the edge. My thoughts:
Got 2 and a simple dual-stacked monitor stand (Newegg and Amazon sell em for $30-40). 3440x1440 x 2 = is greater than 4k vertical and almost 7k horizontal. Bottom HP 34x at eye level and top tilted 5 degrees.
*Pic below*
Pros:
For office and financial work - this is amazing. NOT having a curve is fantastic for this size. All excel, charts and graphs have straight lines - nothing warped and bending. Curve is great for gaming and immersion - but horrible for productivity.
Strong brightness for use near a window.
More resolution than QHD - these are 3440x1440
Easy to use 100x vesa mount - no spacers or adapters needed. Provided screws work with with nearly any mount / arm.
Liquid smooth 165hz through display port (3060TI or any modern graphics card) - never going back to annoying 60hz. Moving the cursor or resizing windows / objects is effortless and has no flicker.
Above average color and text sharpness. Easy on the eyes even at higher brightness levels.
Thin bezels - as you can see from the attached picture I inverted the top 34x so the thin bezels are in the middle.
HP Omen software a nice surprise - lightweight / no conflicts - and almost all monitor adjustments can be done for EVERY monitor plugged in through your windows desktop/mouse cursor. Fast and no reaching behind the monitor pressing buttons (though some specific power / sleep options only available with the buttons)
Cons:
1 inch of vignetting on each size when viewing straight on. Only noticeable with a solid white background. Essentially 32 inches seems to be the limit of a wide monitor before this happens - hence why most are curved.
Pixel pitch not gong to be as sharp as say a 4k 27 inch or 32 inch....but those at 144hz are always double the price of these. You come out ahead if you purchase 2 of these and stack em.
IPS glow but no worse than any other non-full array LED monitor.
Like most IPS LEDs - HDR lackluster.
Highly recommended for anyone in the office - no brainer at $350 or $450. Especially when stacked together.
