and it looks like HBO Max has discounted subscription for the 1 year plans right now: $105 without ads or $70 with ads. Combined with this capital one cash back, it'd be $77 without ads or $60 with ads. That seems pretty good.

I forgot about this issue, hoping Capital One would credit me even though it looked unlikely. Much to my surprise, I logged-in today and found a $27 credit from HBOMax purchase had been added to my account on Feb. 1. As a datapoint, I took the offer on the last day of HBO's annual offer (Oct. 30, I think?). Assuming my dates aren't mixed-up, that meant I really did get the credit in about 90 days. No reason for it to take that long but I'm still very happy I didn't have to call in & complain just to get the credit owed to me.

Writing here to warn everyone who signed up for this to check if Capital One ever honored their side of the agreement. I signed up in September, never received the promised credit to my account, and was forced to file a federal Consumer Financial Protection Bureau complaint against Capital One in an attempt to hold them accountable to what seems to me to be a fraudulent promotion. If you didn't receive your funds, please respond here and also consider filing your own complaint to help prevent this from happening to other unsuspecting consumers.

I called yesterday after I purchased a subscription October 23rd. After being transferred to another department, the rep looked at it and gave me a $27 credit.

Well I haven't had a chance to call yet but my bill pays on the 1st. So today would be another billing cycle and low and behold I log in and see two different HBO Max Offer -$27 and -$5 credited on my account. So everyone else be on the lookout? Or maybe everyone else calling had them look into their broken deal?

Has anyone received their $32 in rewards activity for signing up through the Capital One app? It's been 4 statement cycles, but no rewards. I called in to customer service and they told me to send an email to the Capital One Shopping app customer service.

I called on January 25th using the number on the back of the card, which is the same as on their website. Was on the phone for about 25 minutes. I referenced this website as people were complaining so they would know how big an issue it was. I also gave the confirmation code that showed the day I clicked on the deal. The customer service rep was nice and appreciated the info. I got my $27 credit on Feb. 1st.

As a follow-up, I emailed Capital One Shopping shopping and they credited my account the $32 in rewards. From that, I bought a $32 Walmart gift card. Good deal!

Same problem here, no statement credit for my purchase on Oct 3rd. I was put on hold while the agent escalated it. The agent came back and told me to call HBO Max to get the credit...lol, and if HBO Max wouldn't credit me then to call back and dispute the charge. I offered to give them the offer reference ID from *their* offer that I had screenshot back in October, but they claimed it wasn't needed. I just emailed Capital One Shopping to see if they can help. What a waste of time/money.

I had a realization that I never received my statement credit for this. I called Capital One and was transferred to the "Offers" department I guess and spoke with a very kind representative. She walked me through to see where I clearly did use the offer link but for whatever reason it did not register my purchase even though she could see my purchase. She is processing a "one-time credit" for the inconvenience. Hopefully there's no issues with that processing.
