12.5" HD (1366 x 768) is a little weak unfortunately.

If anyone is unaware, 8th gen is the oldest gen Intel chip that can upgrade to Windows 11. 7 series and earlier will ryde or die with Windows 10/7/XP/ME/WindowsNT/Win 98/95.

Technically the statement is correct. Average non tech person is not going to be able to follow your direction of registry hacks. I would of rephrased your post. 7x80 can't not be upgraded to windows 11 unless you hack the registry. 7x90 can be upgraded by the common person.

Can't replicate deal anymore. Looks like all the laptops they have in stock now are model 7390 and promo code is for model 7290.

These 7490 have battery issues . I have so many pictures of them for when I put in a tech direct ticket with dell to replace the battery.

None of these laptops are worth it in my opinion. These are better described as "used" instead of refurbished since they are all around 5 years old and have probably seen a good amount of use.

Much better off jumping on one of the current gen i3 deals that typically come around. You will get better performance, better battery life, and a NEW machine.

Just my two cents.

Yep, as well as just 8/256GB... the deal from the other day for the 7390s was much better - some of the ones available had a 1080p screen and 16/512GB for $250 - I should've pulled the trigger then for a new laptop for my mom. Got her a Latitude E7240 refurb for $200 back in 2016 and it's still going!
Daily driver or does she use it like once a year?

Low res screen, old CPU, low ram and storage. Hard pass. Dell customer support sucks as well. You'll probably end up waiting over a month it to arrive.

That's legit. I'd to not have to upgrade my i5-6600k. Very happy with it. Thanks for the update

No problem. Just may have to check out some YT videos to learn how to modify some of the files.

I concur. I also note that I think you have to have an M.2 SSD to run Windows 11 to have the required security features.

You're probably missing a trusted platform module (TPM)
