Just a heads up for anyone looking for a faucet...

I found this faucet in store yesterday for $29.88 (zip 98271) and was able to order online for same-day store pickup. Price varies by store and by color/finish.

Glacier Bay Sadira Single-Handle Pull-Down Sprayer Kitchen Faucet with TurboSpray and FastMount in Stainless Steel [homedepot.com] >No longer available online, B&M only

https://brickseek.com/home-depot-...=313413331

I also found others at this price (McKenna [homedepot.com] model). Previous deal with list of faucets you can use to search: https://slickdeals.net/f/15842680

If you're wondering how a faucet like this can be $30 while other seemingly similar ones are $150+ you are not alone, but needless to say you are losing out a little on quality. For one thing the pull-out hose is not metal-clad but is black plastic tubing. Also the spray selector toggle on the head feels very plasticky but it's out of sight. That said, I think these are awesome value faucets even if you don't get them at their lowest price. The cheapest other faucets in Home Depot are $129 [homedepot.com].
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

I prefer to crowd source my reviews and the reviews of these faucets are in the 1000's on HomeDepot.com and are excellent. If leaking was a common problem I believe it would show up there. Also, since a lot of people will be installing these themselves, it is much more likely that a leak is gonna be an issue with the install than with the product. People will always prefer to blame the product than their own ineptitude.

And as a general point, while I agree that you generally get what you pay for, there are some good deals to be had. Some people however cannot distinguish between something that is cheap and something that is good value. If it makes you feel better to pay $200 for a faucet then I would advise you to pay $200 for a faucet because ultimately you need to be happy with your purchases.
Our landlord bought this for us a year ago, well a glacier bay faucet. It worked much better than the faucet that came with the apt unit but we heard a very quiet hissing sound and our entire cabinet was wet one morning. Turns out with use the handle develops an issue where if you don't press down at a certain angle it fails and will begin to leak under the cabinet.

Good thing is he learned from the maintenance guy's rant about buying such a cheap faucet and replaced it with an American Standard for us. So far so good.

I don't think it's worth the gamble saving a few dollars with faucets since we've seen the effects of cost cutting. Buy something reputable is what the maintenance guy told me.
Yes, that's what I did. Base plate is provided but optional.

Exactly THIS

I have 3 glacier bay and all 3 failed in different ways over the years. Better to get American Standard or Moen. Spend a little bit more for long term quality and less headache!

I have 3 Glacier Bays that I installed on 2004 and not a single problem from any of them.

It shows $37.xx for me. Not a bad price, but like others commenting, I don't think this is a good way to save money compared to something like a Moen. I have a Moen in a tenant's apartment that still works great after 30 years heavy use with no servicing. I doubt anything from Glacier Bay could offer that type of service life. I think this would appeal more to short-term users, such as people who flip houses.

The price is nice but this is not a brand known for lasting nearly as long as Moen, Delta or American Standard. You really do get what you pay for with these residential faucets. If you've never installed one of these it's not fun at all working in that tight space under the kitchen sink laying on your back where you can barely see what you are doing. If you value your time and don't want to find yourself back under the sink again anytime soon I'd highly suggest buying the three brands I just mentioned. If money is tight look on eBay with item condition Open Box. If you can't afford anything else there's nothing wrong with Glacier Bay but don't expect it to last more than 5 years in a household with 2 or more people. Source: Am landlord. Am tired of replacing budget plumbing fixtures that don't hold up like the good brands.

HomeDepot.com is full of sham reviews. I have also had terrible luck with Glacier Bay faucets and would never buy one again but one in particular had 0 reviews when I bought it. I wrote a bad review listing the problems with it. It didn't show up on the homedepot.com site until a week later, and then finally appeared with ten other 5 star reviews that specifically said the opposite of each point that I had written.

Instead of being quick to write off stuff like leaks being installer error, you should pay attention to WHERE they state the leaks come from. On most faucets sold these days, the supply lines are built in, meaning connecting the 2 lines to the shutoffs is literally the only 2 connections to make. On ones with a separate sprayer, those most often just clip into place and are pretty idiot proof, as in if you somehow manage to not clip it on right, chances are it's just gunna blow completely off as soon as you turn on the water. Therefore unless they are claiming it leaks from the supply lines at the shutoffs, it's almost certainly the product and not the installation with leaks anywhere else.

That said, I do agree with the value thing though. The big names certainly can be every bit as cheap and problematic as these house brands these days. Getting a cheap lower end moen or something just because of the name isn't really getting you a better product in terms of quality or reliability. They are all pretty comparable at their respective tiers/price points. The only real difference is pretty much the house brands have more lower end options where as the big names have more higher end options.

I've had this for about 3 years and needed cartridge replacement about 4 times.(luckily customer service is quick 10-15 minute call and they ship the replacement free of charge) You will notice bad cartridge when handle leaks or more force required to pull. Our prior generic brand from IKEA had no issues for 10 years straight until it started leaking.

I was very careful with my language. I said "it is much more likely that a leak is gonna be an issue with the install than with the product". I'm not precluding product failure. If you take 1000 customers installing a faucet, there will almost certainly be a proportion of those who don't do the job right. And yes, for those cases an under-sink leak is most likely.

A big name like Moen uses the same fittings/cartridges/etc. across its entire produce range, so I assume that failure rate and price within that range do not have high correlation. What you end up paying for is the style/quality/materials of the non-consumable components that generally don't play a part in failure.

I like to make data-driven decisions and the data on these Glacier Bay faucets is pretty clear to me. In customer satisfaction polls (i.e. product reviews) they score equal to or higher than the mid and top-tier brands. The number of reviews is large enough for the results to be statistically significant. People here are telling their individual tales of joy or woe but as interesting as they are they are just individual tales. The best data we have are the product reviews on the Home Depot website and it says that customers are generally happy with these.

I'm not lying when I tell you that the reason I bought this faucet was to replace a leaking Ikea one. It made more sense to buy a new one than fix the old one, not least because the new one was better looking than the old one. I think we paid about $150 for the Ikea faucet.

Had 2 of these professional installed and leaked both times after a few months. Worked nice when it didn't leak below. The plumber said he couldn't tighten it any more due to plastic parts.
