Just a heads up for anyone looking for a faucet...

I found this faucet in store yesterday for $29.88 (zip 98271) and was able to order online for same-day store pickup. Price varies by store and by color/finish.

Glacier Bay Sadira Single-Handle Pull-Down Sprayer Kitchen Faucet with TurboSpray and FastMount in Stainless Steel [homedepot.com] >No longer available online, B&M only

https://brickseek.com/home-depot-...=313413331

I also found others at this price (McKenna [homedepot.com] model). Previous deal with list of faucets you can use to search: https://slickdeals.net/f/15842680

If you're wondering how a faucet like this can be $30 while other seemingly similar ones are $150+ you are not alone, but needless to say you are losing out a little on quality. For one thing the pull-out hose is not metal-clad but is black plastic tubing. Also the spray selector toggle on the head feels very plasticky but it's out of sight. That said, I think these are awesome value faucets even if you don't get them at their lowest price. The cheapest other faucets in Home Depot are $129 [homedepot.com].
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

I prefer to crowd source my reviews and the reviews of these faucets are in the 1000's on HomeDepot.com and are excellent. If leaking was a common problem I believe it would show up there. Also, since a lot of people will be installing these themselves, it is much more likely that a leak is gonna be an issue with the install than with the product. People will always prefer to blame the product than their own ineptitude.

And as a general point, while I agree that you generally get what you pay for, there are some good deals to be had. Some people however cannot distinguish between something that is cheap and something that is good value. If it makes you feel better to pay $200 for a faucet then I would advise you to pay $200 for a faucet because ultimately you need to be happy with your purchases.
Our landlord bought this for us a year ago, well a glacier bay faucet. It worked much better than the faucet that came with the apt unit but we heard a very quiet hissing sound and our entire cabinet was wet one morning. Turns out with use the handle develops an issue where if you don't press down at a certain angle it fails and will begin to leak under the cabinet.

Good thing is he learned from the maintenance guy's rant about buying such a cheap faucet and replaced it with an American Standard for us. So far so good.

I don't think it's worth the gamble saving a few dollars with faucets since we've seen the effects of cost cutting. Buy something reputable is what the maintenance guy told me.
Yes, that's what I did. Base plate is provided but optional.

Had 2 of these professional installed and leaked both times after a few months. Worked nice when it didn't leak below. The plumber said he couldn't tighten it any more due to plastic parts.
On these Glacier Bay faucets the water lines connect to the hot and cold valves using metal connectors. The faucet itself is held in place with a large, thick, sturdy plastic FastMount connector. The only possible way that connector could cause a leak is by allowing water on the countertop to leak through the faucet hole. I find that hard to imagine but a simple fix would be to apply some silicone sealant. Sorry but I am calling bs on your story. Smilie

And just to be clear, I am not a Glacier Bay fanboi or shill. When buying anything I look at the product, the price, and the reviews and then make my decision to buy or not. I decided that $30 for these faucets represents excellent value. The data shows that the naysayers in this thread are not typical of the customers who have bought them. The data also shows that the customer satisfaction with other more expensive brands is surprisingly similar. Some people here believe that paying more gets them more, but the data doesn't support that.

Thank you and good night! Peace

I've had this for about 3 years and needed cartridge replacement about 4 times.(luckily customer service is quick 10-15 minute call and they ship the replacement free of charge) You will notice bad cartridge when handle leaks or more force required to pull. Our prior generic brand from IKEA had no issues for 10 years straight until it started leaking.
What do they ask for on the warranty call?

I self manage 20 units and stopped using glacier bay toilets and faucets years ago. The QC isn't there anymore and its cost me a lot of time, sometimes up to double the time and sometimes it's a manufacturing defect. Also, I've had to come back and install a new one within 1-4 years. Never had that happen w a delta or Moen but you never know maybe you'll get Lucky

design is weird, cartridge held in by a set screw on the handle works it's way out and the result is water leaking everywhere from the handle if the handle is not returned exactly to the fully closed position. Flooded my cabinet, luckily 20 gallons of it ended up in my trash can and under sink caddy. Fix was just tightening the set screw back into place.

When I first bought it I thought I was going to hate it because it was so inexpensive that there was no way it could be any good but after installing and using it, I really like it.

It replaced a $300 faucet that was falling apart after less than 5-years.

I used plumbers putty when I installed mine - guessing the results would be similar and agree that even if a faucet leaks from the valve, if the water makes it below the countertop then you have other issues to address.

Ordered yesterday morning, store claimed i cancelled that afternoon. Called and turns out employee at the store couldn't find it so they just cancelled it. Spoke with cs and they honored the $29.99 price for any other comparable model of my choice. Ended up getting an American Standard faucet.

My American Standards in a tenant apartment is going strong after 15 years. Never serviced under heavy daily use by different tenants. Although it is not a single handle. I feel these cartridges fail more often.

I bought this same one a few months ago in Chrome, it replaced an old two handle kitchen sink that was leaking, I like it a lot, and it's been working great for me the last few months. No leaks, no issues, I saw someone mentioned they heard a hissing sound, I would double check the pressure of the water coming up to the sink and adjust it

I'd expect the same, but what makes you "feel" so?

Agreed! The answer isn't to divert the leaking water somewhere else, but to find the leak and resolve that leak!!!!

Did I hurt your feelings or something? I shared my experience and others shared similar stories. Mine leaked both times from the cartridge and kept progressively getting worse depending on the handle position. I know nothing about plumbing but 2 different pros that serviced the faucet said the same thing. I agree it's a decent deal but know what you are getting into. Water damage can be really expensive.
