Hard to get these specs in this form factor. Quality build, a bit wonky to use vs. traditional laptop but I enjoyed my two days with it.

I have the Duet 5 version and hate this design. Very difficult to actually use on your lap. You can't lift the screen forward enough without it flopping over. Since all the weight is in the display it's constantly flipping back. It's far too heavy to hold in your hands for extended periods. The keyboard and track pad are uncomfortable to use. This would be better as a traditional laptop.

This computer would've been better with the swivel type display vs detachable, but probably costs more to make, unfortunately

Just to offer a counter review to everyone else so far. I have the Duet 7i from 2 years ago and love it. It has awesome specs, works great as a quick full laptop when I need to do something productive, is large but not annoyingly heavy for a quick show before bed in tablet form, and it came with a stylus for sketching.

Be sensible with what you're looking for, this isn't the best couch laptop due to the way the rear kickstand opens, and it's not a featherweight Kindle for carrying around. But I could see this being perfect for home use or taking to classes for notes.

I agree.

It works fine as a tablet or on a table but not on the lap.

I have the $100 Duet 3i with the inferior Celeron and 4GB RAM. I absolutely love the form factor of this 2-in-1. Recommend to anyone who needs a secondary Windows device.

I have the specced down version of this tablet. It's much different than the Duet 5. The kickstand is integrated and not a magnetic cover and the keyboard is detachable and bluetooth with a battery so you don't need to use it connected to the device if it doesn't work for you. It's all plastic, but whatever finishes they did to it make it feel really premium.

FWIW, you can also use a stylus with this and it works pretty dang great, even with only 4GB of RAM. This upgraded model is a great option.

You have to remember, this is designed as a tablet first and a 'tabletop' second. I call it a tabletop instead of a laptop because it doesn't really work on the lap.
If you don't have a hard surface, expect to use it in tablet mode.

Once that expectation is set, the Duet series is actually well built and great for their intended purpose.

If I hadn't already got the N4020 - 4GB ram version, I may have picked this one up as the N5030 is quite a bit of an improvement.

I have a USI stylist and it works on many touch screens.

No idea why anyone would pay nearly $300 for a subpar CPU "no man's land" Windows laptop/tablet Hybrid with eMMC storage.

8GB RAM + IPS are just not enough to justify this as slick, given it's equipped with weak CPU (only better than the common N4020) and eMMC storage

Only if low $200-ish would be worth to consider.

This is totally true. The only reason it is this high is because it has windows and 8gb of ram. I had a previous Asus transformer tablet (T100HA) and that was garbage.

If they just put an i3 from last generation this would be amazing for even $400. They're building these tablet/laptop combos to only be good for 2 years like a cell phone. I get the price is cheap, but even a Windows Go 2 or 3 with the i3 and 128 gb ssd it's $630 without the keyboard. Crazy.

I also recently got the spec'd down version, and while $289 might be a stretch even with better specs, I use it as a cheap way to 1) read and annotate pdf documents (using Acrobat DC and Google Drive) 2) have access to the full desktop version of Office 3) manage my calibre library (especially helpful with metadata management 4) connect to my Ford vehicle using the Forscan tool and a usb OBD adapter.

I agree with other comments that its not a great laptop replacement because of the folio design instead of traditional hinges, but it's still very portable and easy to use on the go as a tablet in a pinch.

I just needed a Windows 11 device for things I don't/can't use my work pc for. The form factor, USB C charging and dock capabilities, and included keyboard make it a nice alternative device to have around.

The i3s they put in the Windows Go aren't your standard i3s. They're the Y series which makes them marginally more performant (that you still pay a premium for). For some people, the premium is worth the extra 20% performance. However, you're not going to get a U series i3 in anything fanless.

As I said before, this is not a laptop. Laptop specs/performance into a tablet this thin isn't feasible.
