set. After connections were made, I purged the lines with the pre installed freon by cracking the line open for about a second. I used sealant on the tubing flare. I will tell you that I know personally it is done this way all the time. No Im not a contractor. I have zero connections to the business.
There, thats what I can tell you.
...and ready for the negatives

Here is the spec sheet for the 110v mini split i purchased
Power Supply (V-Ph-Hz) 115V,1Ph,60Hz
Voltage Range 103.5-126.5
SEER 20.5
EER 12.5
Cooling (Range) 2650~10300
Input (W) 720
Rated current A 6.26
Heating (Range) 2700~10500
Input (W) 1000
Rated Current (A) 8.7
HSPF4 10
HSPF5 7.8
COP W/W 2.93
Minimum Circuit Ampacity (A) 20
Max. Fuse (A) 30
You also have to consider voltage drop for length of wire run, but you didn't mention that at all mr. Know it all..
Also, the connection wiring is 14g, being connected to 12/2 wiring for a 20 amp circuit.. the supplied 14g wiring is the same Guage as 14/2 used in 15amp circuits.. overheating will never be a problem on a protected circuit. If amperage was a problem, they would have used 12g wire on their own product.
Our build isn't finished yet but once this is installed, I will for sure report back on initial startup amp draw as I have multiple tools to measure it.

These should not simply be plugged into the wall. All codes I am aware require you to follow the most restrictive requirement between Federal, State, Local, and Manufacturers instructions.
From the MFG installation instructions:
1. All wiring must comply with local and national electrical codes, and must be installed by a fully licensed electrician.
2. All electrical connections must be made according to the Electrical Connection Diagram located on the side panels of the indoor and outdoor units.
3. If there is a serious safety issue with the power supply, stop work immediately. Explain your reasoning to the client, and suspend all installation of the unit until the safety issue is properly resolved.
4. Power voltage should be within 90-110% of rated voltage. Insufficient power supply can cause electrical shock or fire.
5. Connect power through fixed wiring. Install a surge protector and disconnect switch box. Use a dedicated circuit breaker with a capacity of 1.5 times the maximum current of the unit.
6. A properly rated HACR-type fuse or circuit breaker that disconnects all poles and has a contact separation of at least 1/8in (3mm) must be incorporated in the fixed wiring. The qualified technician must use an approved circuit breaker or switch.
7. Only connect the unit to a dedicated individual branch circuit breaker. Do not connect another appliance to that same circuit.
R410A pre-charged outdoor unit, accommodating line lengths up to 25 ft. long
It's not pretty, but it's pretty darn easy
Shop area is about 40x80 at 12ft walls with 2 insulated garage doors. Walls, roof, and ceiling are closed cell spray with wood for walls. The unit cools without issue in 100 degree days and keep the shop warm when it's 0 outside.
I've used many units in mini home buildings, Mitsubishi is all I use now as they're quite. These will hum at a frequency that's an annoyance, I would mount the outdoor unit as far as possible from the house and ground mount.
