After bought 5 diff brands on amazon, max I would pay for solar led light is $1 each.
Let see: water damage, heat damage, trash battery, trash solar panel, trash overall quality.
You should buy your solar lights from Costco. They'll take them back if they don't work. I had similar issues with these cheap Amazon lights.

I have bought 3 different times from Costco and none has any issues until now. In case they do, I have peace of mind
Agreed. Never found a solar light that was worth anything more than free. Just wire LV and be done with the awful looking insanity of terrible solar products.

Agreed with great solar light products at Costco but they don't typically carry this form factor. They mainly have the string lights, pathway stake lights, and post lights.

This is the oldest model. I think it's 30 or 50 lumens. Next generation is 100 lumens. Just look at LED lights. It only has 3. Next one is 9.
I have found that 99.999% of these Chinese companies continue to increase their "lumens" in order to stay ahead of the competition - w/o actually changing anything ....

At work one of the well-known Chinese companies had recently sent us a flashlight that they said would light up the night like the sun -- actually had a warning not to look directly into the light because of blindness risk AND that it could be used to start a campfire if needed ....

It was suppose to put out 120,000 Lumens but when we tested it got 1150 .... Yeah it was bright - but 120,000L is like 2X Professional Stadium light bright ...

and we see this literally 100% of the time ...

Don't ever go by these lumens being said -- ASK someone that has it ...

OH - and we were suppose to have got 5 hours of 120,000Lums on HIGH out of a single charge ...

you just have to smh ...

Good point, didn't think of that!

Sure! Let me drive the 2+ hours each way to the nearest Costco to save a few dollary doos on a single item. Let me calculate the cost of fuel, value of my time, a membership fee....carry the one, divide by zero....yeah, not so much a bargain.

I love the strawman arguments that come out when someone is show to be ignorant

I'm on year three of Home Depot's gutter lights.

They give off so much light that it looks like I had them installed.. I don't even bother putting on my spotlights anymore

The reviews are confusing. Some people say they are really bright and others say they are very dim. Could there be different versions? The listed spec of "up to 10 lumens" seems pretty dim.

I don't care if there are 117 billion Costco members. The nearest store is still two hours away, charging a membership fee for a website that I can't take reasonable advantage of. Still not a smart move.
seems smart enough to me...

Please post the brand name etc, might be interested in that. Thanks!
I bought these [amazon.com] and they are great. I like the flickering... they look like real torches. About a year and half old now and no issues.

Thanks, was on the fence, I can see the mini glacier blocks that always overrun the gutters knock these off or worse take the gutter with them

Nothing like adding additional weight to a rain gutter.

If the value of your time was anything greater than zero you wouldn't have bothered with that reply.

Quality control - sometimes even different production runs. I've seen it often with the cheaper solar lights (which may as well be disposable in my experience). Cost doesn't seem to make much of a difference either. I bought some more expensive solar post caps from a company called ClassyCaps, from Costco - same size, months apart - from what I can tell despite the same internals and posts sitting a few feet from one another with no discernable lighting or sun access differences, two of the lights (out of 12) are noticeably dimmer than the rest.

Back they went, and the two replacements were more like the others.

I'll echo though - strongly consider 12V low voltage lighting before you bother with solar if you're doing it for more than 1-2. It's not worth it for just a few, but if you have 8+ to put in, you're better off running some wiring with more consistent, reliable low voltage lighting than you are trying to hunt down replacements that are similar when the cheaper solar stuff inevitably starts failing shortly after the warranty period ends.
