Is it worth going to the Charge 5? Same battery life but the 5 does sound better per the larger sound drivers. Also can't believe you can't charge your devices via the usb C that's almost a deal breaker for me. Seems like a good price point for one of these though.
Anyone with one of these can you comment on the longevity? I had a Bose speaker that died after a year it won't hold a charge. I've had a bad experience with Bose products lately so I won't be going back. Not worth the price IMO.

I have the Charge 2+, 3, 4 and 5. JBL makes solid BT speakers and I haven't had any problems with them.
I've seen the Charge 5 just above this price. Suppose to have better sound. If you already have the 5 I'd pass if looking for a second... As you can use JBLs proprietary connect freature.... But only speakers that came out the same year connect with each other. Otherwise would be a solid buy if you have the Charge 4 looking for another to pair.

I owned this and a large number of other Bluetooth speakers in my hunt to find one that actually sounds decent. I've owened around 15 speakers (yeah, I know).
IMO the charge 4 is terrible sounding. It has muddy bass and lacks treble.
I'd suggest people check out offerings from tribit, earfun, or anker over this. Those have much higher quality sound for a fraction of the price.
True, I have the previous two driver version(stereo), but when they're side by side, there's barely any stereo imaging unless you're facing it perpendiculary. New single, oval driver version has more total surface area and some reviews says it sounds better. Anyone have personal experience?

I have had this speaker for 2 years and it is clearly the best and only JBL product I have liked. I was suckered in the past to buy those JBL iphone/ipod dock speakers..that were junk.
Anyway. This speaker is a great size, isn't heavy and has some amazing sound. It also lasts a really long time. I love it. I just got the extreme 2, and this speaker has a better richer sound.
