it's cheaper at home depot when you factor in home depot's free shipping

This is tempting. I've been keeping my fingers crossed that Home Depot will have the cleaner and accessories on sale for $170 around Labor Day to match what their July 4th sale...

I got a new house this year and I was wondering about the water pressure.

I bought a water pressure gauge which indicated 40psi at the garden hose outside. I took a couple of 5-gallon buckets and managed to fill about 8 GPM.

Not sure what this means... 40psi at 8GPM.... compared to a pressure washer with 600psi at 0.7GPM.... I just want something that can clean lightly-soiled concrete walkway.... any suggestions?

Thanks1

The brushed version is junk. I got it in June (arrived at the end of July Frown ) It does nothing without a 4 or 6 amp hour HP battery, even then it only works with any power provided you have a household hoze connected to it. It will not suck anything up out of a 1 liter water bottle using the adapter or out of the bucket hose either. There is just not enough power. It literally shoots about 5 feet is a ballistic arc with almost no pressure. Absolute junk. Luckily I only paid $27 for that one, but is near useless.

The whole point is to gain cleaning power by increasing pressure, while decreasing water wastage.

I've seen it for $99 as part of HD's Deal of the Day, on Feb 27.

Showing 110 for me, but then if you add the shipping it comes out to about the price in the OP post -- total.

Anyway for those doing comparisons, note that there are various permutations of this item as there are several types of accessories you can get it with.

In my case I got a kit from HD that included the small flexible head, a few different angled sprayer heads, a brush, plus what you see here and it was $130. The price fluctuates.

I will say though it's quite a good unit, one of my favorite Ryobi tools as I am always finding uses for it. Great for a quick clean up when you don't want to (or can't) hook up a hose and AC power.

I use this to clean the pavers, fence, and outdoor furniture around my pool. I drop the siphon hose in the pool and it works great for this purpose. It's better if you have a good supply of 18v batteries!

BEWARE! These have a habit of breaking at the point where the hose connects. It happened to me as well.

GPM makes a big difference in cleaning capability. Basic gas powered pressure washers are 2+ GPM. It's easier to achieve higher PSI at a low GPM, hence why electric and battery powered units are always less GPM at the same PSI. Gas powered units achieve higher PSI as well as higher GPM. A gas engine just has more power. Electric pressure washers are limited by 120v/15 amp circuits. You can find 220v pressure washers but they aren't really in the residential use market.

Due to drought conditions, our condos capped off the hose bibs. So I bought the brushed model last year to wash my car using water siphoned out of a bucket.

In theory, it should only take 2-3 minutes to rinse off my not very dirty coupe, but it seems like it takes forever. It gets the job done but barely and slowly. If I had a full-sized mudder, forget about it.

Going from the 10-15 Gallons Per Minutes of a normal garden hose to the 0.8 GPM of the Ryobi is like someone's stepping on the hose the whole time.

But since I only paid $40 for mine via ebay Tools Direct, it's already paid for itself versus hitting the Coin-Op car wash. Just keep your expectations low.

Can you use buckets of hot water? I want to use it to host my bicycle chain grease.
