Is this good for the Quest 2? ( connected to the PC of course)
Yep, via SteamVR, like you say. Need a PC capable of gaming, obviously. In fact, VTOL VR's minimum/recommended suggested specs are below. As I mentioned, I don't think they have an Oculus native version because it demands too many resources.

MINIMUM:
OS: Microsoft Windows 7
Processor: Intel Core i5-3570K or equivalent
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: Nvidia GTX 970 or equivalent
DirectX: Version 11
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Storage: 2 GB available space

RECOMMENDED:
OS: Microsoft Windows 10
Processor: Intel Core i7
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Graphics: GTX 1070 or equivalent
DirectX: Version 11
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Storage: 4 GB available space

Does this work on Quest 2 without a PC?

No, it requires steam.

Only Oculus store games with either Cross Buy or Quest only will work on the Quest Standalone.

My nephew has a quest 2 and a PC with an i7-10700f and 3060ti. Is there anything else that needs to be done besides using steam VR? I bought him that cable that was FP a week or two ago. Is a tutorial needed to use the quest 2 with Steam?

There are a ton of youtube videos if he's not experienced with SteamVR. It's not difficult.
Sounds like his machine can easily handle all these games.

Huge price benefits to being off device vs buying on the Quest platform with all these VR bundles/deals. On the other hand, spending $1000 on a VR capable PC and having to update/maintain it would kinda suck for those of us not already in that boat for other reasons. Plus I like playing in different areas of the house, at friends homes, and away from home. Hope we get a Quest store humble deal again.

A PC capable of running all these games on PCVR (SteamVR) can easily be had for $500-$600. In fact, if you buy enough games, it easily pays for itself. There are reasons, which you stated, why Oculus native games might be preferred, valid reasons, no gaming PC, mobile flexibility, response time in certain games, and there are reasons why SteamVR is preferred, future-proofing your purchases for any brand VR unit, price, not supporting Meta. I didn't list all the reasons, and some of your reasons can be offset with good networking topology.

Anyway, regardless, VTOL can not be bought as an Oculus native game - it's requirements exceed the Quest's native specs. So, since that is the lead game here, it's kind of a moot point.

All good points. The PCs I'm tracking are $1,000+, so I've never pulled the trigger since I've got my MBP, XSS, Switch, Quest etc Smilie

Would be cool if you can share a link to a reputable brand $500 PC that's well equipped to run modern VR games and has enough overhead to do so for the next few years? I'd think a minimum of 16GB, 1TB SSD, and 1660 Super is needed?

Costco FP deal has been going for weeks. No idea if it's still in stock. Also saw a Walmart PC that could handle it. Both reputable brands, both sub-$600. You say that sarcastically like I'm just making it up? My mid-level gaming machine is circa 2019 (it was mid-level at the time), and can easily run these games.

I have an i5 processor with an Nvidia 1660ti card, desktop, and it exceeds the specs for almost all Quest 2 PCVR games. My GF has a 1660 Super, Dell, and she got that for $600. She doesn't even game, but it was a good deal, and I now have her on a 2nd Quest. From what I've read, both those video cards exceed most PCVR Quest requirements.
