Free shipping.
Thanks. I bought at govets. They have the other weights as well. Rather have it delivered home, free shipping. The local grainger is only open 7-4 M-F, so i can't pick it up.

Petroleum doesn't come from dinosaurs. That's fake news.

I recall reading somewhere, Dexos gen 2 oil sales must cease by Aug. 31, 2022. Probably explains these sales.

Seriously? Crude oil forms from anaerobic decay of ancient organic matter. Dinosaurs are by definition ancient organic matter. It's a proven fact that dinosaur remains, among many other ancient life forms, are in crude oil. Get your facts straight before screaming "fake news".

I'm just baffled by those who think once opened that this stuff will leak, or worse yet, somehow spoil.

This isn't milk guys.

Ordered two boxes, will keep the unopened one in my non-heated shed. Might take me a year or two before it gets opened.

Worry level = 0

Great deal! Thanks OP.

Like you said, at the risk of a debate. I just take the word of the team of engineers who built, designed, and tested my engine. They're a lot more educated, and paid a lot more than likely anyone else here. 😅 me especially
Nope. Companies give the simplest answer for the highest probability of use cases because people just want simple. ^^^^

Notice he said "his mechanic" so maybe he has a good relationship where they allow him to bring his fluids - this is especially common for smaller shops and if you are bringing in a german car.
Well, that explains it - I bet "his mechanic" loves him. Probably upcharges the labor since he loves people who eliminate the profit on oil and parts. This is Slickdeals, not Cheapskatedeals.
If you buy your own oil, man up and do your own oil change.

In my experience, paying for oil changes comes with the added bonus of getting your drain plug crossthreaded (and the always popular rounded off hex flats) by a high school dropout with no mechanical training. Yeah I'll do it myself; I don't trust my engine to incompetent strangers who are encouraged to cut corners and hurry up. I'm not referring to you qualified and competent mechanics out there (shout out to Eric O on YouTube). I'm referring to the oil change places, including some retailers, who hire "technicians" with zero qualifications necessary other than a pulse.

That's a good point and probably correct. But the article does says sales: https://blog.amsoil.com/gm-dexos1...standards/

"GM dexos1 Gen 3 highlights
GM dexos1 Gen 3 highlights include…
Updated performance standards for deposit and sludge control
Revised stochastic pre-ignition (SPI) test
Fuel-economy test with backward compatibility with previous GM specifications
The first date to claim the new spec was Sept. 1, 2021. Gen-2 certified products can be sold until Aug. 31, 2022."
