I currently have 1440 27" and 1080 21" for office work and software development. How would this one feel replacing the smaller one I currently have? It's be nice to have matching resolutions but I'm sort of afraid it's going to be overwhelmingly large right in front of me.

Has anyone run a 1440 monitor in portrait mode?

Just pick one up today at BB.
The monitor is bright even on standard and cinematic (220nits) mode. I will dust off my color-calibrate device and do a calibration on this monitor later tonight. I am currently aiming for 120-130nits, and it is not too bright for the eyes and is suitable for long-term use/viewing if you sit in front of the monitor all day long playing games/work/youtube. I might post the calibration profiles up if enough people want them. Plus, it is better than nothing because all panel colors are a bit different.

Which OD setting for this HP x32 do you guys think is best?
I think gaming OD fast (lvl2) should be good enough. The fastest would be pretty useless because of too much overshoot.

Also, look like this HP X32 monitor use LM315WQ1-SSA1 panel, which is similar to the LG 32GP850-B. There is a review for the LG 32GP850-B via hardware unbox on youtube if you guys are interested. If this is true then it is a bargain at this price LOL.

Review said OD2 for high refresh rates, OD 1 for below 100hz.

This was for the 27" model with a LG panel but I expect the performance to be similar.

Just did the PP - Disc checkout and PP offered me an extra $20 off as a PP offer, so $191.99 (incl tax) plus 5% Disc. Had to pick up though as they werent offering shipping.
What is this PP offer?

Can anyone recommend an HDMI splitter to use with this to add an alternative computer? I'd like to have connected to the desktop with the option to switch to a connected laptop.
If each computer only has one video out, HDMI, you need an HDMI switch not a splitter. A splitter splits one source video signal out to two monitors. Each monitor is a mirror of the other. The switch lets you toggle through as to which computer will be using the monitor,

Wow been looking for a new 32in monitor for my Arcade, and I can't pass this deal up. It was using a cheap 32in Insignia TV that was only 720p. It was fine for older games, but it was killing me when I tried to play something more modern like Guilty Gear Strive. TV's are terrible computer monitors so I always knew I wanted the replacement to be a monitor with a decent refresh rate. I didn't think I'd also find QHD resolution for sub $200.

Nope never have really and never will. I've been playing strictly multiplayer and ranked competitive my entire life. Also like I said... it's YOUR CHOICE. If you do both then you need to choose between a nice single player experience monitor and doing some competitive on the side or going strictly hardcore competitive and getting a 24-25in monitor. At the end of the day, unless you're trying to go pro or you really really care about having advantages in multiplayer, it doesn't matter what you use. But it's just literally science for the reason why 24-25in monitors are the most ideal size for competitive advantage.

In for 1. A bit confused on the discounts but I bought through BB and used my PayPal. I made sure to activate the 5% on my discover card and checked out with the discover card in PayPal. It said something about 5% cash back in the PP app when using the discover card, but I don't think I properly double dipped like some of ya'll. Oh well. Still a killer deal.

Was the idea to use the PP credit $20 off then pay the balance with discover card? If so I botched that part of it.

I currently use the same setup (/w 21 in portrait). The pixel size between the two is in the same ballpark, but it you used the 27" in portrait mode with this monitor, you'd have a significant difference there and I would personally find it annoying. For what you might use it for, if you never move windows between monitors and can adjust text size, it's maybe workable.

I like the idea of a 2nd monitor in portrait mode, but matching the pixel size is important to me and would need something closer to a 24" for the extra display. If I had one that was 16:10 ratio I would probably do it, but in the end I just ordered 2 of these and will just have to make some room on my desk.

I haven't bought a monitor without speakers for a long time, any recommendations for an inexpensive setup to go with this monitor that's good for streaming movies? Thanks in advance!
