Can anyone that picked up this monitor recently or have one comment if the panel manufactured by LG or BOE?

It should either start with LIM or BIM in the hardware revision on the side of the box
I was delivered a BIM today in SLC, UT

The monitor is bright even on standard and cinematic (220nits) mode. I will dust off my color-calibrate device and do a calibration on this monitor later tonight. I am currently aiming for 120-130nits, and it is not too bright for the eyes and is suitable for long-term use/viewing if you sit in front of the monitor all day long playing games/work/youtube. I might post the calibration profiles up if enough people want them. Plus, it is better than nothing because all panel colors are a bit different.

Which OD setting for this HP x32 do you guys think is best?
I think gaming OD fast (lvl2) should be good enough. The fastest would be pretty useless because of too much overshoot.

Also, look like this HP X32 monitor use LM315WQ1-SSA1 panel, which is similar to the LG 32GP850-B. There is a review for the LG 32GP850-B via hardware unbox on youtube if you guys are interested. If this is true then it is a bargain at this price LOL.

I'd be interested in color profiles. As stated in a previous post I confirmed the LM315WQ1, not sure on the SSA1 since it doesn't show up in service mode.

Please post calibration info. I'll be looking to tune mine in once received. Haven't gotten to looking for any ics files out there yet. I'll definitely check via menu for LG panel and pixel test.
Thx!

YMMV!!!

Here is the color-calibrated HP X32 icm profile via the Color Munki Display device. (124.29 cd/m2, 6511K, White point DeltaE 2000 at 0.25)
Need to change the color and image setting in the monitor for the proper color.
Menu > Color > Custom RGB > R 255, G 242, B 245
Menu > Image > Brightness 50, Contrast 80, Dynamic Contrast off, Black Stretch off, Sharpness Level 4
I try to upload in zip files in the attachment and it doesn't let me (error occurs). Instead, I use the DropBox link below.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/xgxyet1...X.zip?dl=0

For those who don't know what to do with the icm color profile.
You can add the color via the Display settings > Advanced Display Settings > Display Adapter properties for Display 1 > Color Management > Color Management > Check Box _ Use my settings for this device > Add > search for the files HP X32 icm profiles > OK > Set as Default profile > Done.
If the color of the profile is not to your liking just repeat the step above by resetting the monitor color setting and deleting the icm profiles on the computer.

Use this lagom.nl if want to know how good or bad it is. Because all monitor it is a little different.

Hope this help.

Just going to confirm my monitor (which I purchased from Best Buy) has a LG Panel, despite what others may have suspected with it being an BOE Panel. As stated previously, you can enter service mode to get this info by holding down the menu button while powering the monitor on. Release the menu button after uh... 5 seconds after powering on I guess?

I've attached a screenshot, but it has the following:
Panel: LGD LM315WQ1
Scaler: MT9800
FW Package Version: 1.2.1.0 (I've read that the Firmware is not user upgradeable)
HW Revision: LIM111

I can't find the datasheet for LM315WQ1; closest I can find is for LM315WR1 [alldatasheet.com]. Hope that helps!
So mine came with a BIM panel. Is that bad or good? Will I notice any color differences?

I'm actually not really well read into the argument tbh, but based on what I read it seems to be the popular take is that BOE panels are more prone to failure but may have some qualities that are better than LG panels. Someone else could speak to the differences between BOE vs LG panels better than I could.

I imagine though that having a different panel would affect, say, the color profile that esc1a made above, which I think was made using a monitor with a LG panel.

Anyhow, I just wanted to share my panel info and where I bought it (since some people purchased from Amazon after they price matched) so more people could get an idea of what people are unboxing. More users sharing data keeps the rest of us informed. Smilie

Edit: I'm also curious if Best Buy is receiving units with a mixture of BOE and LG panels in the same batch. I imagine this is done due to supply chain issues, since I know someone who works on building devices for commercial customers, and they tell those customers that their order is going to have a delay of, like 6 - 12 months... though I wouldn't put bait and switch past HP either. The proper approach would have been to designate these as two different but similar models, but HP has no interest in that....

On the bait and switch side... let's say HP ships batches with mixed panels, where some % are BOE panels and some % are LG panels... and let's say, hypothetically, that HP mixed in LG and BOE panels on purpose for the sake of gaining more profit (afaik BOE panels are cheaper). I could imagine some accounting analyst looking at this and saying "y'know, if we replace 30% of the units with BOE panels, we could save $3 million dollars per 100,000 units (these are made up numbers)." Now whether that's the case or not, who knows; I certainly don't.

BOE panel here! Firmware version 1.2.0.0. Picked it up Monday from my local Best Buy after seeing this deal post. Confirmed it was brand new, sealed box with 0 hours back light usage (found under Menu -> Information).

For $199, it crushes my 3 year old LG VA panel (32GK650FB) and finally gives me a 2nd 32" to replace the ancient 24" Asus panel I was using as a secondary. Gameplay is buttery smooth and colors look great! Definitely happy with this as a holdover until I can grab a Gigabyte FI32Q as my main for a triple monitor setup
