It pretty much strong arms you into buying a second knife at the same price or higher than the one listed. I'll probably think on it until they run out of stock as per protocol.
Lightning makes an OTF that is pretty decent for the price. I prefer my Lightening OTF to this Boker knife. The Kalashnikov feels so slow. I can literally open all of my other folders, manual or assisted, faster than that thing. The lightening feels a bit clunky but opens and closes fast. Fun to fiddle with it. I actually have one on the table and open any packages I get with it. Never carry it outside though, Too thick and heavy and not sure the legality, not that all the ones I do carry would be legal here.

The Lightening knives are actually on sale at Grindworx and their free shipping threshold is $49. A few of the full size are on sale for $25 and the small for $15. I may pick up a couple.

First of all you want the best knife..learn how to make one.. you dont want to then jap steel is no question the best on the market for a knife. Usa... Only 25% maybe lower has to be apart to be mDe in the usa... Spain same thing.. you also want FULL TANG. (THE METAL FROM THE TIP OF THE BLADE TO THE HANDLE.) THATS A KNIFE.. THATS WORTH spending 300 bucks for maybe more. Then we get into carben steel.... If you want any information on knives or an axe.et me know. Let me know what you are looking to do with it and ill steer u im the right path
Best steels are American made alloys made by either Carpenter or Crucible. These would include steels like Maxamet, M4, S90V, and Cruwear. Runner up would be Swedish steel. Japan and China make a lot of the low-end to mid-tier steels. They're not bad, but you mostly find them on budget knives. Beyond that, everything else just depends on what you're using the knife for. You might want something that has higher corrosion resistance (mostly high chromium steels) or you may even want to go with ceramic which is common for things like kitchen knives because they have excellent edge retention.

I'm looking for a cheap automatic, is this probably the best price point I'm going to get on one currently? I do have to admit I think the handle is rather ugly, not really a fan of the finger grips look. I was spoiled for years on the ganzo g719 got a whole bunch for 15 bucks back in the day, had a few left but all the springs finally went in them 😭
I've been carrying the Kershaw Launch 11 for a couple years. Solid little automatic knife that looks nice and opens solid. Costs a little more but its made in the USA.

From what I have researched, die hard knife enthusiast swear by Japanese k390 steel.

What do you all put for the check box certifying you are a procurement officer? Auto knives are legal and legal to carry in my state but I am unsure how to order one.

K390 is Swedish steel made by Bohler-Uddeholm, Commonly referred to as Bohler K390. This is a high tier steel. You'll see it used a lot in Spyderco knives.

You are correct. Upon further research, it is the heat treatment that the Japanese give it that seems to be the important part in making it a very impressive knife steel. What steel do recommend, high end and budget?

You can get a couple different Ganzo autos on the DHgate website for around $25.00 each, I ordered 2 yesterday.
Reliable site, have never had any issues there.

It all depends what you're using the knife for and how much you want to spend. My personal preference for budget steels right now are K110 and AR-RPM9. K110 is very similar to D2 with just a bit more strength. The AR-RPM9 is proprietary from Artisan Cutlery and you'll see it on several brands. Short explanation is they coat high carbon/chromium knives so they perform more like a high end knife.

If you want to spend more, go with something like S35VN or even the K390 you mentioned. There are a lot of great options out there. You just gotta know what you want. Smilie

Thanks for your help, yeah there customer service is trash. From my understanding there a Chinese knockoff brand that steals everyone's designs. But can't beat the price, well used to.
I have a ganzo and a boker. boker is nicer with very smooth action, while ganzo ain't half bad for the money, but clearly isn't as good as boker or even the mid tier brands.

If you choose that, it won't allow you to check out. You have to choose one of those.

Blade HQ are dishonorable thieves. They sell "Italian" knives that are clearly from China but don't fully disclose this. Furthermore, they sell the same knives for upwards of $100 or more when you can get the same exact knives for $20-30 on DHgate. Check out popular blade forums, their dishonest practice is not new.
