regular a08cj seem to be 999? so a 100 off?
The A80J and A80CJ are essentially the same tv with the "C" probably meaning Costco, 999 is the current regular price but it seems some stores have it on clearance for 899.

It's the Sony 55 A80J... The C stands for the Costco exclusive model...

FWIW Amazon has it for $999... Could see a PM...

yes, I should have mentioned glare, it doesn't handle it as well as my bright TCL 6 series. I have a southern window at my back so I just draw that curtain. Hasn't been a problem since it's been too hot out lately. So both the Hisense and this Sony do better at night. I don't think there is a perfect TV out there and the TCL was just too bright for my PC monitor.

I don't think burn in is even possible here, I jump around using apps while I'm not browsing. I run chrome in dark mode and hide the start menu when screensaver kicks in. Not even the recycle bin is showing. I don't game like the old days so that's not a problem either. BTW, mine is the 65" but it should be the same panel, 77in has a different coating.
Thank you.

Can you return the TV back to Amazon for a full refund? Drop it off at Whole Foods?

Thanks for the tip about this being back in stock at Amazon. Unfortunately it's gone back OOS now…

Hey guys, is there an OLED TV that is good for bright sunny room and at night? Are LG's better in this regard?

According to Rtings review:
CONS
OLEDs are prone to permanent burn-in.
Doesn't get bright enough to fight intense glare.
OLED is freaking awesome dark room. my TV room is pitch black at night and OLED really shines.

I love at night when a movie cuts to black and the TV looks like it's disappeared in the room...

Same as https://slickdeals.net/f/15879769-costco-members-55-sony-bravia-xr55a80cj-oled-4k-smart-tv-3-year-warranty-999-99-2021-model but an additional $100 off in some Costco warehouses.

YMMV as 4 warehouses around me were out of stock or still at $999. One of them (Potomac hills in VA) had 2 units for $899 and I snagged one.

Where do you see it for $999 besides Costco online where it's OOS?
Amazon price is much higher and less warranty.

Amazon had it briefly for $999 with 1 to 2 week ship but then disappeared...

that's the truth. I did ding it for glare in bright sunlight directly opposite so I save the dark movies for evening. However it's overcast this morning and curtains are open with PC on SD and I barely notice any glare. At least on SD right now that doesn't have a dark mode

I reckon it has a lot to do with individual usage and tastes. It has changed my viewing habits, more movies and less eyestrain. I had to use a screen dimmer with TCL as a browser, now I don't. I have a spare pixel phone with a wireless receiver pad for another remote control.

I rarely use the SONY UI as I'm always on the PC or other box/stick. I miss the HDR or Dolby Vision pop up, it's not as obvious as my TCL 6. . I have a 4K 30FPS Omen Laptop so I won't be pushing any crazy frame rates. But I haven't checked since I switched to the Display Port/HDMI (2.0?)

Found this for $700 at my local Costco 2 weeks ago. Then last week saw they marked down the 65" model down to $1000.
