No since it's all in the bell not outside. I bough this model and ok somewhat with motion since I mainly got it as a video doorbell (record when someone pressed the button) but I have two huge issues with it which makes me almost hate it. First one is when someone rings and it notifies you that someone is at the door app just shows spinning circle instead of video and I usually can view event AFTER it happened, second I had to stop using the inside unit since it would NOT ring until 10-15 seconds later AND keep ringing randomly afterwards at random times non stop (tried updating, resetting, deleting reinstalling app, syncing both devices together etc) problem still persisted.
I did install brand new 16V 30VA transformer bought at HD ( https://www.homedepot.com/p/Hampt.../309792479 ) I can view video just fine any other time besides someone pressing the doorbell. I use 2 Google WiFi points in mesh set up and almost never have issues with them.
I would skip on this pile of $h… because there's a reason there are so many of them refurbished IMO. Warranty can get you a different one but I suspect it will behave the same.

Motion detection on this is garbage and getting to continuous footage fails constantly.

FYI, saw this on the Best Buy site for this model:

"The resolution would be 1080P in continuous recording mode. If you see the streaming video, the resolution is 2K. "

How is the motion detection on this model? I have the battery model with the home base and it feels like it's capturing people walking away…

I have the wired 1080 noncontinuous version. Motion detection is 50/50 when you set it to human only, etc. I have mine detect everything, works well so far, going to upgrade to this one for the continuous recording.

It's only a bypass on the device that triggers the old doorbell, as they aren't electrically compatible and can damage the Eufy.

If you don't have a doorbell, you need some way to get 18V DC to your door.

So just to confirm, this one gives you an actual timeline you can scrub through for the past 5 days? If so that's the only thing that I would say is missing from the other model.

In for 1, thx OP. I have the noncontinuous Amazon version still in box. I'm going to send it back for this one.

Continuous recording is worth it because human and motion detection is delayed most of the time, resulting in recording the backs of people or not recording them at all.

This version is the only way to guarantee that you capture the video footage of people at your door.

Makes sense. Explains how it can store 120 hours of video. Still completely worth it (imo) to guarantee video capture of potentially nefarious activity. Probably not clear enough to capture license plate numbers, but clear enough to identify people at your door.
