They have a online unlock portal. Once your phone is eligible to be unlocked, you can go there, enter your phone number and email, then they will email you the unlock code to enter into the phone. (You can also call or chat with the reps if you want)

For Customers with non-Apple devices: TracFone will provide an unlocking code to customers who request unlocking, provided they meet the following conditions:
If the TracFone device was activated with TracFone service prior to November 23, 2021, then the device must have been active on TracFone Service for no fewer than twelve (12) months with Service Plans redeemed in no fewer than twelve (12) months.
If the TracFone device was activated with new service on the Verizon network on or after November 23, 2021, then at least sixty (60) days must have elapsed since the device was activated.

What does it mean by "new service on the Verizon network?" That's what they use now?

Edit: apparently Verizon bought them out - had no idea

I think im super-banned from buying anything tracfone/total wireless related. I get declines and sorrys at checkout no matter what.

Cheaper than the Galaxy A51 refurb I got earlier this year and similar specs. My A51 refurb looked brand new. The only way I could tell it wasn't was because of the generic box and low battery. It charged right up though and holds a charge so no big deal.

This month (August) Tracfone is giving 10K in rewards for adding a new line BUT good luck getting it counted right. I tried by calling and they started new account with new line, tried through app on next line and it didn't count it at ALL. Good thing those were from TCL phones from good deal so I didn't cared that much but their support is generally horrible and unhelpful, yes if service works you should be ok but if you have some issues with account or rewards then good luck to you, chat directs you to calling, calling to scheduled callback that nobody ever does, it feels like never ending loop of redirecting, verifying the account that finally ends with hang up at the end.

So, to unlock this, I have to pay $57 + $15 (1 mo service) = $73 + tax.

Does anyone know if the bootloader can be unlocked and rooted?
