Great for the money. I've been using mine daily all summer. Drilled more holes in the bottom for more air flow. The top has fallen apart and it's begun to rust. You can buy a replacement cover at Menards for $15 if you need one. I live in the Midwest and don't care…it was less than $18. I've had the same exact things happen with a $250 pit.
Don't hesitate, this is great for what it is.

I don't know if this is exactly the same model I have. Seems to be ok for the very small price it costs. The cover stinks. So far I've never covered mine and it has some rust.
I've only had a fire in it twice. What I really use it for is lighting my charcoals for BBQ smoker. Keeps the basket separated from the ground and I don't have to bend over as far to get the basket to put in the smoker.
The only real problem I have is the hole at the bottom gets plugged and rain will fill up so I just flip it over once in a while.
The screen rusted quickly. The rest rusted as well. Save your $$ and aggravation. There likely is a quality model that costs more up front, but you'll keep it a lot longer.
Only way to have one not rust is buy stainless, but even then stainless can rust too. Stainless ones are way more expensive.

When they say "rusted" they mean that it rusted through and fell apart.
These low-end Walmart fire pits are made of the lowest quality metal pressed incredibly thin and won't last a full season even if you take care of them well.
That said, for $16 it might be worth it if you just want a fire pit you can use 5 or 6 times and then toss out in the spring.
It is what it is especially for $16 but I guarantee a lot of people saying it's rusting haven't taken good care of it and probably leave it out in the elements uncovered 24/7/365.
SD is a mix of the haves and have-nots...the have-nots are contemplating using this in the fall - the haves are contemplating destroying this so they can make a cheap accessory for their solo stove (a surround, heat deflector, spark arrestor etc.)

Actually I am a have-not as I won my solo stove in a sweepstakes Now I am trying to find cheap alternatives to their insanely priced accessories!!
I keep mine in the garage, no worries about rusting. Didn't even think about that if you keep it outdoors all the time. It's ok but not the best quality. One of the leg screws came out after about 2 years of light usage. Got this right after Covid started. But just was looking for something basic. It's not very deep but you can easily build a pyramid and get your fire going pretty hot. I bought some fire pit tongues as the one included really is only good for moving lit logs around (pushing them in place) and putting the cover on when done.
