So, compared to the previous Legion 5i Pro, this one has a 3700 Ti and 512GB SSD, the other one was 1TB and 3700 150W. One thing I noticed here is that the warranty on this one says just 1 Year warranty. The previous one comes with 1 Y Legion Ultimate, which is a much more comprehensive warranty.
My local Walmart pulled all the high performance laptops off the floor a few months ago and just have a placard listing all the models and specs available on walmart.com. Not sure if this is indicative of a nationwide change or not, but it's changed to that format in all the Walmarts I've been in lately.
Yes, battery is the same 80Wh.
Max Battery Life: 4.01 hr (discrete mode) or 6.55 hr (hybrid mode)
RTX 3070 Ti 8GB GDDR6, Boost Clock 1485MHz, TGP 150W
As for me it's better to buy with minimum ram and ssd storage and upgrade it by yourself

Thank you OP for posting this deal. The laptop is really well rounded. Quick RAM and SSD upgrade makes it absolutely perfect.
I've been entertaining getting the new Lenovo release with the 12900HK, but at nearly double the cost, I couldn't justify the slight difference in overall power compared to this one. Looking forward to receiving this soon 👍🏻

Thanks OP. I bought one. Be here Saturday. I was going to get the 3070 deal, but cheaped out and got the Nitro i5-12500H 3050 ti refurb deal ($760 shipped) instead. Best bang for buck gaming laptop imho. Doesn't come without compromises obviously. Personally want to compare low with mid tier. 12th Gen is fast even on the i5. Biggest difference is the GPU and screen. Nitro 5 screen is 144hz and average. Also slower ram and wash on disk size. The better laptop comes with a huge increase in price. My heart wants the Legion to be justified in the cost, but my wallet wants the Nitro to be good enough. Aesthetic/build wise - the Nitro feels like a barebones laptop with a RGB keyboard. Didn't expect much and I was correct on that. Decent connectivity though. The battle begin on Saturday Night.
TL;DR: Make sure that you can get some kind of extended warranty if you are going to purchase. You don't have to necessarily pay for one, there are credit cards that have an extended warranty as a benefit. The Costco Citi Card, for example, adds 2yrs of warranty to a lot of different things you buy from any retailer without any exclusions for things like laptops. If I were to buy another Lenovo I would DEFINITELY use my Costco card just to have that extended warranty. Our Legion 5 Pro died after 1 year.
We bought a Legion 5 Pro 16" a bit over a year ago with the Ryzen 5800H and RTX 3070 when it was $1399.99 from Walmart. I was looking all over for them and actually managed to snag one locally when another slickdealer said they found 3 of them at a Walmart about 1hr away from me.
I was so happy to get it, it was for my wife's business. That didn't last long because we started getting intermittent boot issues. Basically the laptop would randomly fail to boot - at first the keyboard would light up while the screen was blank. I found some techniques on youtube that got around it, so I thought maybe it was just a quirk with Lenovos. Then last week it completely died and nothing I do can get it to start up. This time not even the keyboard lights come on. I tried everything, even opening up the bottom and disconnecting the CMOS to try and reset the motherboard. Nothing has worked, there is absolutely no response when pressing the power button. So now I'm going to have to reach out to Lenovo and see if they're going to be willing to do something with the laptop when it's just out of warranty...
Whole thing is kind of annoying, honestly. The laptop definitely feels high quality inside and out - the board looks clean, the heatsinks are well made, and there are heat spreaders all over but yet I feel like the laptop has always been less stable than I expected. Like it's not even minor stuff that can be worked around like a chintzy touchpad, weak battery, or keyboard keys that stop working... like when something goes wrong the whole thing just crashes or doesn't even power on. When googling it seems like Lenovo's response to people encountering similar issues is just to RMA and replace the motherboard... that's not reassuring.
While I initially really liked the Lenovo and this is a decent deal I just have a hard time trusting them enough to go back for another laptop...

Does anyone know if you can add an extended lenovo warranty after purchase?
You are able to upgrade the type and length of warranty, yes.
I upgraded from 1Y Legion to 3Y for $100. Added Accidental Damage onto it for about $60 more. Since this one comes with basic support, I don't know the cost to go TO Legion ultimate.

I got the previous one with the 150 W 3070 and the 1 TB SSD. This thing is perfect for what I bought it for. I attached it to my TV screen in the living room so I can play games with a controller instead of on the PC on a different floor.
I can also use it to browse the web from my recliner and not have to worry about having the PC on all the time.
HDMI 2.1 FTW

I did the same as well on my 3070 from Walmart but just to 2 years. Note that within the Lenovo Vantage app, you can see length and type of warranty and also get a discount clicking on the link to extend the warranty. I believe it's at least 10% off.

1) slightly lower battery life (from 8 to 7.3 hrs)
2) 512GB SSD vs 1TB
