First post, please be nice. Been watching these for a while. Looks like they've lowered the TI model to the price of the base 3070. Storage is less, but I think it's worth it. First actual Walmart sale I've seen for a 2022 model.

Max Battery Life: 4.01 hr (discrete mode) or 6.55 hr (hybrid mode)
RTX 3070 Ti 8GB GDDR6, Boost Clock 1485MHz, TGP 150W
As for me it's better to buy with minimum ram and ssd storage and upgrade it by yourself

1) slightly lower battery life (from 8 to 7.3 hrs)
2) 512GB SSD vs 1TB

I've been entertaining getting the new Lenovo release with the 12900HK, but at nearly double the cost, I couldn't justify the slight difference in overall power compared to this one. Looking forward to receiving this soon 👍🏻

We bought a Legion 5 Pro 16" a bit over a year ago with the Ryzen 5800H and RTX 3070 when it was $1399.99 from Walmart. I was looking all over for them and actually managed to snag one locally when another slickdealer said they found 3 of them at a Walmart about 1hr away from me.
I was so happy to get it, it was for my wife's business. That didn't last long because we started getting intermittent boot issues. Basically the laptop would randomly fail to boot - at first the keyboard would light up while the screen was blank. I found some techniques on youtube that got around it, so I thought maybe it was just a quirk with Lenovos. Then last week it completely died and nothing I do can get it to start up. This time not even the keyboard lights come on. I tried everything, even opening up the bottom and disconnecting the CMOS to try and reset the motherboard. Nothing has worked, there is absolutely no response when pressing the power button. So now I'm going to have to reach out to Lenovo and see if they're going to be willing to do something with the laptop when it's just out of warranty...
Whole thing is kind of annoying, honestly. The laptop definitely feels high quality inside and out - the board looks clean, the heatsinks are well made, and there are heat spreaders all over but yet I feel like the laptop has always been less stable than I expected. Like it's not even minor stuff that can be worked around like a chintzy touchpad, weak battery, or keyboard keys that stop working... like when something goes wrong the whole thing just crashes or doesn't even power on. When googling it seems like Lenovo's response to people encountering similar issues is just to RMA and replace the motherboard... that's not reassuring.
While I initially really liked the Lenovo and this is a decent deal I just have a hard time trusting them enough to go back for another laptop...
I upgraded from 1Y Legion to 3Y for $100. Added Accidental Damage onto it for about $60 more. Since this one comes with basic support, I don't know the cost to go TO Legion ultimate.
I can also use it to browse the web from my recliner and not have to worry about having the PC on all the time.
