I purchased 6 of these for my home, was really excited about the premium features, and First Alert > Kiddie. I saw the reports of false alarms but discounted them, as I am always wary of 1 star reviews, especially when the rest are overwhelmingly positive.

14 nights after installing, woken up at 4am by a false alarm. All interconnected, so extremely distressing. Once was enough for me. Sadly, I returned them all. Wanted to love them!!

YMMV but it happened to me. Just providing a data point. Frown

These are not hardwired. There are currently no hardwired smoke alarms on the market that have Z-Wave capability.

These connect wirelessly via Z-Wave (or Ring Alarm Base Station). I bought these last time they were on sale.
I could be wrong but it seems like there are still benefits of a wired version, at least constant power with the 9volt backup instead of relying just on the 9volt battery

I'm in quite a quandary! There are two posts for the same deal on the same page. What post do I leave a review on? Lol

Did they fix the issue with them going off randomly after a couple months of use?

That was my issue with them. The worse when they go off at 2 or 3 in the morning and then you get the call from Ring.

Yeah, they went off for Mr a couple of times around 12am and would always freak out. I just took out the battery and put them in the garage because Costco did not want to take them back.

Ahahha, same. They're just sitting there now and I have my old school ones installed. What a waste!

We have 5 of these and don't have issues with false alarms. Integrats easily with Ring.

These use AAs, not 9volts.

I don't understand. What is holding them back from making one?

Word. I need hardwired ones. Building code requires them

It seems unnecessary as they already interconnect wirelessly via the Ring Alarm base station.
I disagree. Hardwired also gets power from the wiring. It is not just for interconnectivity.

Did they stop selling the hard-wired ones? I have about 10 of them installed in one location.
