Tempting, but unlock policy pretty sucks. In this case, I interpret the phone will be locked for 24 months - a huge hassle if you want to travel internationally without paying for their crazy high roaming fee.

Sucks for all the people that jumped on the iPhone SE deal. This is a much better value with mmWave, bigger battery, and better cameras.

Yep, which is very expensive if compared to buying an eSIM (only doable if you have an unlocked eSIM capable phone).

Great deal, ordered one. I'm an existing customer and it costs $2 extra per month to add another line to my account. Paid about $43 for sales tax and $3 to unlock a google voice number for porting.
Please explain how.

I guess he is on the old by the gig plan, but I am not sure if this plan is grandfathered. Multiple lines can share the same data quota. Adding a new line to this plan only costs tax, assuming this new line only uses little data.

So to be clear. There's no way to limit the $15 "by the gig" to stop using data once you reach that limit. ..... You can keep using all the data you want… $15 per additional gigabyte… With no limits! Wow!"

my understanding is:
there are tiers.
if u go over 1gb, then u pay the next tier plan price.
once u go over that tier, then is unlimited tier.

so its not as bad as u may think

Phone is locked, what are you trying to achieve?
I'm an existing xfinity mobile customer with 2 fully paid off, unlocked phones. I'm wondering if I add a line with this deal, porting in a burner number from google voice, can I simply pull the SIM from one of my existing phones I use on xfinity mobile and swap it to the new 12 mini? The ported google voice SIM would then remain unused. I understand the new phone is locked but since I'd be using an existing xfinity mobile SIM from a different phone would that work?

12 mini battery is a joke. Can't believe Apple even designed, manufactured, and sold this piece of crap. 13 mini is much better, but still not great as far as battery life goes.

I think for per gig plan, the data is all pooled. Your account would have limit how many lines you can add. I was using their internet for 7 months before I started with xfinity mobile and i was approved for 7 lines

I don't think we pay in different tier. We pay based on data selected and how much we use. Like if you are in 1gb plan and you end up using 1.2gb then you'll be charged for 2gb at $15 per gb.

But a good thing about them is, you can change plan anytime in the cycle and previous data will be billed accordingly - not sure how it works between per gig and unlimited. I was on 1gb plan but Last month I ended up using more than 1gb so i switched to 3gb plan at $30 mid cycle and i paid $39 for 5 lines for total of 3gb. This month, i switched back to 1gb plan.

If you are on the 1GB tier and expect to exceed - you can either cpntinue (and be charged $10 per GB, assuming that you don't expect to exceed 2 GB - $15+ $10 = $25)

OR

change your plan up to the next tier (3GB at $30). This makes sense if you expect to exceed 1 GB and stay below 3GB.

It doesn't automatically change to the next tier, or to unlimited; if you don't make a change and exceed, the charging is at $10 per GB

Note that you can change your plan UP at any time of the current billing period; but if changing DOWN, it only applies from the next billing period.

you can turn data off on the phone. The app shows how much you are using.

to be honest, if you use it a lot buy the unlimited plan. I think its capped so not a good deal
