So I can change to next tier once I know I am at 0.95GB usage for the current cycle? Or can I change to next tier still after I exceeded 1GB for this month? Also, does it mean that once I change to next tier (3GB at $30), I should immediately change down so that I am back to my 1GB tier for next month? Thanks!

Quote from nkrishnasg :
If you are on the 1GB tier and expect to exceed - you can either cpntinue (and be charged $10 per GB, assuming that you don't expect to exceed 2 GB - $15+ $10 = $25)

OR

change your plan up to the next tier (3GB at $30). This makes sense if you expect to exceed 1 GB and stay below 3GB.

It doesn't automatically change to the next tier, or to unlimited; if you don't make a change and exceed, the charging is at $10 per GB

Note that you can change your plan UP at any time of the current billing period; but if changing DOWN, it only applies from the next billing period.

ok.
ty for clarification.
i thought i read it was automatically done.
maybe it is that way for the single line.
i signed up XM when they first introduced.

(lg x charge)

was there for abt 1 month

just rejoined recently

I don't think we pay in different tier. We pay based on data selected and how much we use. Like if you are in 1gb plan and you end up using 1.2gb then you'll be charged for 2gb at $15 per gb.

But a good thing about them is, you can change plan anytime in the cycle and previous data will be billed accordingly - not sure how it works between per gig and unlimited. I was on 1gb plan but Last month I ended up using more than 1gb so i switched to 3gb plan at $30 mid cycle and i paid $39 for 5 lines for total of 3gb. This month, i switched back to 1gb plan.

Tempting, but unlock policy pretty sucks. In this case, I interpret the phone will be locked for 24 months - a huge hassle if you want to travel internationally without paying for their crazy high roaming fee.

They are very strict about the unlocking policy, and not even considered a few months left on the contract. Also, careful when you travel internationally. I turned off the cellular network the whole time and used only WiFi. I was still getting calls thro WiFi, and I thought they were free but ended up paying those calls. My $30 dollars plan became $240. I did some negotiation and my bill was lowered to $180.

$30 for 20GB seems like a pretty decent price. Does anyone have any testimonials on the customer service quality?

Xfinity Mobile's customer service makes Verizon, AT&T, etc seem like 5-stars, lol. I wanted transferred Xfinity Mobile lines between accounts and it took 20+ calls and wasted A LOT of my time to correct my billing. Lots of clueless reps and most will say empty promises, so I try to record and save evidence.

I will say that Xfinity mobile's pricing is probably the most reasonable for a family that doesn't use a lot of data (average ~$30-45 per month for 3 lines) and don't do much international traveling. However, the pain of having to renew the Xfinity internet contract every 1 or 2 years has given me reason to look at alternatives lately.

EDIT: Clarified

Xfinity and Verizon are the only ones with Wi-fi calling that actually works in rural areas with no cell signal. No lock-out timer like Tmobile when traveling beyond the metro. Best cellular coverage on the PCH south of SF. Xfinity customer support is however as bad as it gets.

Thanks for the warning - that is insane.

What was their explanation of charging you roaming internationally even when your cell network was turned off? Is your Wifi calling enabled? I assume voice calling like WhatsApp or Google voice should not subject to this roaming.

XM has the same international plan as Verizon ($5/day Mexico & Canada, $10/day everywhere else).
That's not the Verizon plan. The Verizon plan is free in Mexico and Canada and $5 a day everywhere else.

$5/day Canada/Mexico
$10/day Everywhere else.

Select newer unlimited plans included Canada/Mexico, but you're also paying double monthly anyway.

5.4" screen with a 2227 mAh battery. If you are happy with a small screen, a lighter user and poor battery life, this is a pretty good deal. I am done with 4.7" screen phones. A 5.4" screen is still quite small in 2022. I feel like I was spoiled with 6.4-6.7" screen phones with good battery lives. I think a tablet is good to pair with the smaller phones.
