Because bread is cheap to make, they get their veggies cheap. The most expensive part is the meat and they don't put much at all. The sandwich costs them $1 in costs. The only thing special about subway is their bread since its their own recipe. Everything else is the same quality as in store. Subway is a glorified deli counter. I refuse to support someones stupid decision for buying a franchise without research and trying their hardest to make it work.. its better they jump ship and invest their time in something else...

In conclusion, $5 footlong is what the cost should still be.. if not, I refuse to go there. This is a forum about deals.. a retailer raising prices and offering a coupon to come back down to normal price IS NOT A DEAL

The subway store I go to sometimes has the owner actually making the sandwiches, he mentioned that corporate office is all gungho sends out these promotions and but does not subsidize or offer any form of credit for the stores - not sure who to believe, you would think people at corportate would have done some level of margin analysis when pushing these promotions and would not knowingly cause the stores hardship
OR
on the flip-side owners are simply not willing to reduce profits?

Use these codes all the time at my local Subways.
There are 2 within 10 minutes of my house and both accept the coupons when ordering online.
Works out to about $4.00 a sandwich when I get the ham.
Pretty slickdeal for 2 meals.

The closest one to me does not accept coupons. Bummer. Thankfully there is a Publix even closer to me than the Subway and their subs are much better, fresher, and meatier than Subway's at about the same price.

that's no excuse. they just keep driving away customers with this nonsense fake deal. if they cant be trustworthy on their own promo, clearly they cant be trustworthy on what they put in the sandwich.

Worked in 55116, and haven't had Subway in about 5 years since they went up in price. I really enjoyed both though and a great value at $6-7 for each sub. (Ill never pay $11-12 for a Subway sandwich though!)

I like how nikkas done straight up write bullet points, opening thesis and a whole Subway philosophy on a BOGO offer. I don't love Subway, but $5 for a custom sandwich is a decent deal. Thumbs up OP!

1. Subway makes the worst and skimpiest sandwiches of all the sandwich chains out there. The only thing the got going for them is convenience and excessive locations per square mile.

2. Subway has drastically raised their prices and I'm not accepting the pandemic or supply chain or inflation as an excuse. A foot long is from Subway is simply not worth more then $5. If I'm going to pay around $10 for a sandwich, it better be stacked with lots of meat and not pre-measured! It should be a premium, quality sandwich!

3. Subway employees are NOT properly trained on how to make a sandwich, therefore you must supervise them and instruct them each and every time. They tend to hire young, inexperienced workers who have little pride in their work and probably never made a sandwich in their life before.

4. Online orders: Since you are not supervising/overseeing them making your sandwich, expect it to be wrong or with less meat or other "premium" fillers.

5. Canceling orders/Not accepting coupons: Any store practicing this should be reprimanded and fined/penalized from corporate. If a franchise owner chooses to not participate, he/she should be terminated from the Subway chain and forced to go independent and not allowed to use the Subway name or logo!
