The notes say if you have a Sirius radio Stern is standard, but not if you have an XM or SiriusXM radio.

I think my car is XM, but I can't stand Stern anyway.

I have had a SXM subscription in my vehicle for 8 years, never an issue receiving annual retention offers of around $5 per month, for 12 months, which included Howard Stern. My plan expires in mid-September, cancelled when the retention agent was unwilling/unable to do better than the OP's plan. Will allow the current plan to lapse, see if SXM will sweeten the pot.

This has streaming. What it lacks from the Platinum Plan is Howard Stern, Personalized Pandora stations, Stitcher premium podcasts, and some video content.

This deal has been active for almost a decade. When you call just ask for the $60 per year plan.
The Op points out, though, that it's different from the usual plan. You get billed monthly so you can cancel at any time, vs being charged upfront for the whole year. This is actually great for me because I have the Amex Platinum Card, which includes a $20/mo streaming services credit that covers SiriusXM. Also, you're spared the trouble of having to deal with the kabuki theater of canceling being offered the $5/mo promo all over again. Finally, you don't have to ask for this offer if you're a new/returning subscriber--you just click and you get it.

Someone said they had lifetime plan but you can only transfer it to another radio 4 times ever. A family could go through 4 radios, new cars etc. in just a few years, then no more XM even if get a new radio. Sounded ridiculous.
The Alvarez class action lawsuit took care of that BS. Now I can transfer my sub to a new radio for $35 and never pay a monthly fee. And to think I thought I was really stupid for dropping $500 on it back then.

Nope
A class action settlement allows unlimited transfers, there is a $35 fee per transfer.

I thought I was stupid too.
But it was really the right thing to do.
I played Sirius for thousands and thousands hours of commercial free music.
I even go to sleep and wake up to Sirius thanks to Alexa

Nice! Time to cancel and sign back up.

Not a huge fan of the compressed audio for the normal prices they charge. They should just make this the normal price so that they could have a bigger customer base.

I get annoyed by the DJ's flapping their jaws about nonsense when I just want to listen to music.
They can eliminate most of the DJ'S and use the money saved to keep the service at $5 per month for everyone!
I can't believe Howard is payed to talk about nothing important, let alone the huge bucks they pay him. I've never understood that, but to each his own. Unless I'm listening to financial channels and opinions on companies, I don't think I have much need to listen to any DJ's.
$5 should be the normal rate and they should have specials for lower prices.

A few things.

Last, change billing address to A state that has no sales tax before you call. Do the deal to save ya another $20 plus.
Good luck.
These states exist?Smilie

Normally, I've been able to get my Platinum plan renewed at the same $6.67/mo after fees when I call, no prob. The last two times, though, including just now, they let me walk.

FML! I had a "lifetime" subscription from 2008 till I sold that car in 2017. Sirius XM said too bad so sad nope, can't transfer. Now i find out there WAS a class action lawsuit that I fit the class BUT it expired on 1Jan21? Never heard a thing about this, no email, no US mail, nothing. Crap.

The grind continues, my current 'best offer" expires in 13 days so I called. After several attempts to sell me at 7$ a month for 12 month even after I told the rep that I am looking at their website and want the $4.99 for 24 months. She went away and came back twice before she "found" the promotion and let me sign up. It's like Comcast you have to push through the first several "best I can do" rates -- that's the "grind" part that I hate. She even congratulated me that I have this promotion since the price is never this low. Charging to my AMEX card makes this $0 per month for now assuming AMEX keeps up their "streaming" benefits.

All done, 24 months current (ex-"lifetime" subscriber) promotion applied.

What Amex offer are you referring to?

My 2nd year on the $4.99/mo for 12 months for the Music & Entertainment Plan was about to end in 3 days. I just got on chat with an agent using the "Chat with an agent to cancel" link and showed them the deal link asking if I could get it and they gave it to me: 2 years of Music & Entertainment Plan for $4.99/mo that ends at the end of August 2024. This will be a total of 4 consecutive non-stop years of the $4.99/mo rate for me (actual charge is $6.06 after taxes and fees).

If you guys dread calling them, give the online chat a try. It's surprisingly quick and painless.

Not exactly sure why I didn't just cancel. Unlimited data and streaming to my phone is probably better (except in dead cell spots). Anyway, $5/mo (+ tax & fees) is OK for 2 years. I can't imagine renewing after that.

They first offered the renewal at $6/mo, but honestly that's too much for this.

Their business model is dead. Does anyone really pay $25/mo for this? Maybe if I had a shop or restaurant. How do they muster the $$'s to replace satellites?

I've been getting emails with the same offer as my trial subscription with my truck is about to expire. And as others have said, a call to them will often get you a similar offer if your current plan is about to end.
