I saw some people on YouTube said a 2019 16" mbp was the best ever in history. Despite of what I've been told, I just bought a 14" mbp yesterday so I could easily carry around.
Hmmm,, does battery life matter anymore after you're already getting 14 hours or more from the 14 inch anyway!?
Depends on the laptop ,example , if it was a windows laptop while editing , to get the most horsepower you would likely be connected . With apple, runs very very well while on battery . Some people like the extra head room of battery life while editing or what not
As long as Apple laptop is doubly priced compared to similar spec Windows laptop, it's considered a front page Slickdeals :-) There you go, I gave you a very simple formula ;-)

Why is there so much price difference between 14" mbp and the 16" one?
Used to be there were 13" and 15" MBPs. 13" was lower end CPU and everything, couldn't even get the higher end CPUs of the 15".
Nowadays, with their in-house M1 series SoCs, that's different. At the base level, MBP 14 still gets a cheaper SoC, in addition to the smaller screen, battery, etc. and other missing features. Both get 512GB SSD and 16GB RAM standard. But you can option an MBP 14 to have the same SoC and RAM as an MBP 16. At that point, 14 to 16 is only a $200 difference. So $300 of the difference is the cheaper chip.
Prices below at full list price for each upgrade step.
Hope that makes sense. Basically, MBP 16 forces you to upgrade the SoC in addition to the size upgrades and other features you get. Whether that's worth $500 to you or not, that's your call.

We do alot of video editing on set and use premier, sometimes on location, I'm trying to compare laptops, can you tell me which laptop i can compare that is similar in performance in price. Specifically performance on battery power mode

If you are doing video editing etc. I would go for a laptop designed for creators. E.g., this one from costco is on sale and it is for creators, has RTX 3050: https://www.costco.com/lenovo-sli...76621.html
Keep in mind that RTX 3050 does not have AV1 hardware encode. If that is a priority, I would go with Intel Arc series GPU. My personal favorite is https://www.bestbuy.com/site/leno...Id=6502223
The last one from Best Buy was on sale for 1299 few weeks ago. I am patiently waiting for that to drop around $1200 and that would be my next laptop
