Try looking on reddit. https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDec...ance&t=all

And here https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDec.../?sort=top

I also saw some youtuber did a comparison of multiple current microsd brands and lexar came out last.
Found the video: https://youtu.be/eNX4SFMftEY

Not sure if this one is a new one that isn't subject to what people are talking about.

Don't get me wrong, it will work fine but it's slower vs the SanDisk or Samsung evo select cards. Game loads are fast because they are reads. Looks like this card is slower on writes. The issue with overheating leading to throttling and it being thicker is a bit of a concern.

I need one but I'm on the fence.

Tried this Lexar 1TB in my steam deck today playing Doom 2016 and it didn't go so well. Mission took much longer to load, kept locking up at checkpoints, felt a few FPS drops, eventually the game just crashed to homescreen. Swapped my TEAMGROUP GO 512GB back in and played through the same mission with really no issues (just one minor lockup for few seconds) and mission load times were quicker too. I guess I had to see it for myself at this price point, going to be returning this card, unfortunately.

Would be nice for the steam deck but lots of bad reviews of lexar cards's performance on steamdeck.

Perhaps this is a new one and it's better? Can someone chime in?

Would love to get this 1tb.

this is all new, unless you need it I would give it 2-3 years before jumping in now.

How is it even possible to get three straight scam cards buying from Amazon directly? I can't even imagine the odds.
They mix third party stock.

I bought this on Amazon about a week ago for $20 more, for my Steam Deck that was just delivered. My Lexar card is working perfectly fine, but I'm bummed that Amazon won't refund me the difference. Frown

What download speed is this capable of? My current 256gb sandisk overheats and throttles to 10MB/s severely hampering downloads of large games.

Yeah, I'm not chancing a low capacity card formatted to look like a 1 Tb card off of amazon. Gotten way too many counterfeits from them in all kinds departments.

Usually when amazon is running a sale like this, they are just copying someone else's sale. But I can't find anyone else with it discounted. I'd love to get this card at this price from a reputable vendor.

Received Lexar Play 1TB today. Just started h2testw to verify capacity using my 2021 Zephyrus G15 built-in UHS-I microsd reader. Initial impression is that read speeds max out between 95 to 99.5 MB/s and stay consistent (at least for the 10 minutes I tested so far). The write speeds follow a burst pattern spiking up to above 85 MB/s for around 2 or 3 seconds then dropping down to around 12 to 13 MB/s for 10 to 15 seconds repeatedly. I would not use this card in any use case that requires consistent write speeds above 10MB/s. Makes me think that the v30 rating must be averaging write speed over time because the card seems to write at 12 MB/s with occasional short lived bursts to above 85 MB/s. I tried using rack server fan to see if lowering temperatures would improve write comsistency but it did not have any affect.

I have 64GB Sandisk Extreme with same ratings (A2, U3, v30, etc) and that card stays writing between 65 to 70 MB/s consistently. My Samsung EVO Select/Plus are also consistent with writes.

I tried to buy one of these from Amazon for the Steam Deck three times. All three times Amazon sent me a fake card from their inventory. Was a giant hassle to get refunds. I will never buy an sd card off Amazon again. Their tech inventory seems to be a mixture of scam items and damaged items nowadays
Yep, bought a Lexapro 256gb microSD card from Amazon back in 2016. Had issues writing files beyond 32GB, turns out it was a really a 32gb card with the MBR/FAT table adjusted to show 256GB. Now I buy directly from Samsung, BestBuy and MicroCenter so easy returns if there's a issue.

I have the 64gb base model Steam Deck coming. I was going to upgrade the 2230 ssd dyi. Is getting a fast micro SD card good enough for AAA games? I'm mostly putting the old Dark Souls games on it.

Min. Write Speed: 30 MB/s

WTF.... Cards should have faster speeds in larger capacities. This is a poor product by admission.
