Depends on what you're looking for. They are selling some items in brand new, undamaged condition for outlet prices, such as the Prime Bookshelf Speakers. $249 vs $349 is a big discount. The outlet items at further reduced prices typically sell out very quickly.
the outlet almost always has brand new items at reduced prices.

Well that's a strange policy, why would anyone ever pay full price then?

the outlet models that are "new" are not available 100% of the time, but they do show up often. not sure why someone would pay full price on their regular site unless you had a sub emergency and needed it right away. probably up to their marketing team when those units show up in the outlet or it may just be them trying to liquidate some extra stock.

right now they have almost every model available in the outlet section. and they include all the benefits of "new" ones. they will state: Outlet Special: No damage. Factory inspected and tested. 5-Year Unconditional Warranty and complete Bill of Rights coverage.

I've had the PB-1000 in my Amazon cart for like two months at $499, and it's that price at SVS.

Would an outlet PB-1000 for $400 be a good buy? It says no damage, so...is it an open box return or something?
likely open box or return, but buying this direct from SVS is zero risk to you: besides saving $100, you get the full 5 year warranty and 45 day trial period (free return shipping). Go for it!

Picked up two Prime Elevation speakers to round out my system hopefully. Using Ultra Bookshelves as L/C/R but the new living room has pretty tall ceilings so hopefully they can fill the room a bit better.

Still pricey, but I snagged an outlet PB-1000. Are my Audioengine A5+ a good pairing?

I first tried 2x pb1000. Pretty underwhelmed. Returned and bought 2x pb2000. Huge difference to try them side by side. Also have a 3000 micro in a different room. Quality subs. I would suggest to look beyond their entry level stuff.
The entry level subs are fine for the right application, particularly if you're committed to getting 2 subs. In my 11'x17'x9' theater room the single PB1000 was also underwhelming and the room modes made it very uneven from one seat to another. Adding a second one and using a receiver capable of dual sub calibration (like Audyssey MultEQ XT32) was a total game changer. Room modes are almost completely gone, response down to at least 20Hz, and powerful enough to feel. So much so I had to add felt to the back of the sound absorbing panels in the room so they don't rattle on the wall. For sure the bigger subs would extend deeper below 20Hz, but for the $850 I paid, these are great for my application. If you have a bigger space and/or an open space, then yes you'll need a bigger sub and you should be open to using 2, but I wouldn't dismiss the entry level subs out of hand if you have a smaller and/or fully enclosed space. The $399 PB1000's are a good value IMHO if you have the right room for them.

Got two sb 1000 pros, and they thump! Wanted sealed for music! Tight articulate bass! Not bad for movies either! The app is the game changer!
You could've gotten ported and had more output and lower extension while still maintaining tight articulate bass for music. I have two monolith 16 in ported subs and it's the tightest sounding especially with double bass drum music. Not laggy or boomy just bad ass.

Having recently made that comparison again, overall they were similar.

The impression of the difference was again the SVS reproduced what we heard more accurately, the monolith dug deeper giving you deeper bass.

The built in DSP and app are extremely helpful if you like to make adjustments especially if you use it for music and movies.

Keep in mind there are vast many other things that influence the sound you hear like environment and placement.

It's best to compare them yourself to actually know which works best for you and your setup/environment.
The difficult part is returning a Monolith. Their sale just started, so time to decide.

The "tight" sealed sub myth will never die. Lol.

I have two RSL Speedwoofer 10s that I don't like. Too boomy in my room and frankly underwhelmed with them. Plus one died. Thought about getting SVS back then but cheaped out. Thinking of upgrading now and thinking of going sealed because I am more music focused.

What would you recommend? The new Micro 3000 or a SB-3000
