I bought one of these fans in July to avoid running the AC so much. I love the fully variable speed adjustment and that I can just leave it on a smart switch. I'm tempted to buy another, so I don't have to move it around so much. It has 24V DC adapter block and I tried to set it up to run on a battery but haven't quite got it.

I have the non smart energy version and the fan is loud. It really pushes air, even in low it's pretty audible. If you're looking for quiet this isn't the fan for you.
