The Ryzen 7 6800H is actually 8C/16T vs 6C/12T

With that said, if this was $500 without the 3050, it'd be very tempting. The integrated 680m graphics on the 6800H is pretty darn good on its own!
Let's learn something 1st before start putting comments
Except they are not.
Try to read some reviews instead of doing your guess work. I think you're just assuming all U series are low powered and all H series are power hungry, irrespective of the Processor brand, architecture or generation....I can understand bad effect of having a Laptop with Intel 12th Gen Power hungry monster. For Ryzen it is not true. Companies have released small 14" Ultrabooks with H series Ryzen 4000, 5000 and now 6000 H series Processors and pretty small battery compared to Intel laptops and they still do fine and better.

He ordered a pretty nice laptop from AWD during the recent 20% off promo, but as he's futzing with it, he says that out of the blue he lost bluetooth and device manager now can't even see a BT, so possibly getting RMA'd back to AWD.
Funny you mention this. I just inherited an ACER laptop from my wife (Aspire 5). I was excited to use a BT mouse and keyboard for it when all of a sudden the same thing happened to me.BT just disappeared. All I had to do was reload the drivers from the ACER website. All is well again and it hasn't happened again. If it does, easy fix.

Is 250 nits enough? Well it is mostly for inside use but i still I fear i could regret going for 250 if in the rarest times I might take it to a cafe (let's say inside a store near a window or something like that) would that be a huge disadvantage?

We have a Lenovo with 300 nits and it doesn't get as bright as we'd like in some situations. For the price we paid we're still very happy with the laptop, but knowing what we know, I don't think I would consider a laptop with less than 300 nits.

Question: For a laptop like this, can the user elect to use the integrated graphics at times rather than a GPU? How would that be done? The reason being power saving.

That's generally the default configuration in laptops with a GPU and iGPU. The GPU only kicks in if it detects a 3D rendered application or other need for more than just basic rendering stuff. I believe they initially called this process Optimus for Nvidia setups, and I believe they still do.

There are ways to more manually controlling this (disable the GPU in device manager, for example) as well, if you really need to force something.

yeah that's what im fearing, that it might not be great if i carry it around to someplaces even though it will be mostly inside use.

If i compare it to the ideapad 5 pro that got 350 nits, their performance would be similar but the 5 pro has great screen and better battery but it has a capped power 30 W cpu and 50 W GPU according to lenovo video. I don't mind the looks of both, the 5 pro is lighter what is nice but this cheaper one also got me by the hooks because of better CPU and also possibility of higher wattage, not sure which one to choose Better upgradability, heavier or a bit less upgradable, less power, great screen and better battery.

Regarding power, it's great for editing but if you're knee deep in creation, then it's not good. From what i learned 45% NSTC gives about 72% sRGB which doesnt give great color differentiation, i've read that even some 100% sRGB arent that optimal for content creation. Now having said that, it's great for editing if you're not having to create yourself the colors and the whole production process, if you only do the edition of cutting videos and stuff like that could suffice. There's also the possibility of plugging into a great monitor for creation but i guess that wouldnt be portable.

Holy crap. That 6800H has 3.7 tflops! Should be totally fine for 1080p gaming.

Even indoors the 300 nits feels too dim at times if I'm not in a low lit area.

My daily driver is a MBP with 500 nits, so it may be a case of once you know, you know.

He says once he updated the bios, the BT reappeared.

It's this laptop. After the AWD 20% off and 5% cashback for Amazon CC, it came out below $800:

Aren't these specs pretty good for a laptop at this price? Has that graphics card and very fast processor?

So where would you buy new battery to use the bigger one?
