The novelty wore off fast. I don't remember the last time I changed my hue bulb colors. Now it's just behaving like the other bulbs in the house, except dimmer.

These bulbs are not color, just the various white tones. I prefer these over the color. Even though I'm sure I will get thumbs down for it, I can't find a reason to use the different colors.

May I give a suggestion on how to use these color bulbs. Use it as security When someone approaches your yard space or open a yard door the bulb with indicates a red light or what ever color you desire. This will let you know someone has violated your space. Time to bring out the big guns !

Edit: expires today
I might not have the right card, mines not there for CFU, CSR, CFF, or Southwest card

I may not be always changing colors but its certainly nice to change them during movies or during parties at the house.

I agree. But I do find myself changing the white tones - warm to white a lot.
I go with these now, better than just the one white color.

These are also the newer model, 1100 lumens vs 800 lumens.
There's also 100w ones that are 1600 lumens

Hue is low value relative to competition these days.

I keep thinking that myself, and then find myself toggling all the other d*mn lights off and on and off and on because they lose connection. I think my handful of Wiz lights are the worst, with GE close by. Surprisingly one of the new Home Depot Hubspace bulbs I bought for fun seems surprisingly reliable and functional but I refuse to buy more until they integrate matter (and preferably THREAD) support.

The Hue lights just always work, each and every time, don't affect my Wifi, and integrate with all my automation and well, everything, painlessly. I can see why they became so popular.

We'll see how things change once we have a dozen manufacturers selling good, bright, accurate, reliable, Matter+thread lights.

So you do like Nurse Rachet and walk down the hallway in your pumps and teal gown and change the color from white to green slowly to go with some ominous music. Every morning right after your coffee as you head down the hall to go to work. At least that's how I do. Ha.

I like the color bulbs for the family room (combined with Hue Sync home theater tech), the living room (for holidays when guests come over), and the master bedroom. There's nothing like telling Alexa to turn the lights to magenta to set the mood. Hehe.

Dumb question, but can these be installed in the ceiling as recessed lights or do you actually have to purchase the recessed lights from HUE? Also, can these hue lights be safely installed inside of ceiling fans?

They can, but they are smaller and may not look pleasing

Interesting.. for some reason I though they could. What about inside of ceiling fixtures like a ceiling fan?

+1 on the Wiz lights. They are super unreliable.
