Love how 1080p on a 13 inch screen is now low resolution. Meanwhile you still have 768p displays being sold and you get shit if you call that out for being too low.
Yes, the Netflix app will work, but only in SD quality through the app. However, through Chrome, it works perfectly. But for downloads/offline viewing, you will have to use the app. It doesn't look good...
With no Office apps, I almost took it back. But I managed to create shortcuts to 365 Office - So I have an icon to open Outlook and also Office 365 in new windows. They look close to apps. Also, it seems apps like Fubo TV, Netflix, etc all work much better from Chrome. So I created shortcuts for those and pinned them. The app versions of the apps just suck honestly, and they change what they do based on whether you are in desktop or tablet mode.
The speakers are pretty awful. But from what I hear, so are the ones for the s7+ FE (what I was comparing to). But most of the time I will have my Buds near me.
But for a true Chrome desktop experience, this works really well, and you can't get that on Android. So I have close to a desktop experience, with a detachable keyboard, a big screen and crazy battery life for $350. It isn't perfect, but I'll take it.
I actually do like using it as a tablet somewhat as well. For music lyrics, the long screen works great (less scrolling during performances). Also in bed, if I prop it up on my stomach, etc, with my legs behind it in bed, it works as a tablet.
And for watching Tennis, etc in tablet mode, I just love the big screen.
Not bad. I paid 309 during the last big sale open Box in excellent condition. I love this damn thing. I use it half the time is just a tablet. Nice keyboard attachment too and the battery lasts a good 14 to 15 hours.
I used this for a couple weeks and didn't run in to any issues. I don't have peacock but Netflix , prime , and all the. Play apps I installed worked just fine. Some games stuttered a bit but that was rare. I also used it for work and got in the VPN and that worked well too. The screen is gorgeous but just too big for me as a tablet.

Some things to consider...the resolution on this makes a bit tough to use as a tablet (decent eyes will see pixelation) and I am thinking from memory this model MIGHT have some Netflix issues.

Ended up going to my local best buy after your positive reply and picked one up! It's a pretty great content consumption* device. It's surprisingly snappy compared to the S7 fe i recently got and quickly returned. Thanks!

This is funny.... I am taking my Duet 5 back tomorrow to get a s7 FE. After using my S6 for a while, I just like how much smoother the OS is, and I have my Office apps and an email client. But the deal breaker was I couldn't use a piano app to practice piano on this Chromebook. The sound kept cracking. I tried different apps, USB headphones, etc.
I liked the machine, but now I have a pickup order for the s7fe processing.

Ohh yeah it might be usage specific. FE might be ok if you don't get the 4gb model, I think that was my problem. I would often want to split screen (watching a show and being on messenger or browsing reddit) and it would be ok... But God forbid you try to switch one of the apps, open the notification drawer or literally anything else, it would hang up. Apps would very often just restart if they shortly lost focus because of the ram issue. It would sometimes even lag to get to the home screen. It sounds like you have a particular use case though ..hopefully it works out for you!
Seriously, I'm a bit of a resolution snob and this is fine. Meanwhile Microsoft will gladly sell you a surface laptop go with a truly awful screen
Let's not forget how long Apple sold Macs with spinning hard drives (and Fusion/SSHD), long after the rest of the world went to SSD. Don't get me started on the legendary 720P webcams.

Just ordered the open box in excellent condition plus no NJ sales tax. $299 total
Would this have as good as screen as an s8 ultra? Was looking at that but if this is just a good screen I might go with this. Main use would be content consumption

I had Duel 5 for a few days and now own S8 Ultra. No comparison. S8 Ultra screen is brighter and sharper. S8 Ultra is a much smoother tablet, but again at least double the price.

Got the P12 Pro top of the line for $429 - can't be beat now that's it's on Android 12L

Personally I would never buy 768p screen. there are use case say for video and media consumption.
anything lower than 1080p is very limited on productivity.
for a 13.3 tablet IMHO 1080p is fine but being an OLED screen it can make agood ebook type reader. while 1080p is decent. higher resolution really results in sharp text on ebooks especially for scanned stuff like magazines and comics and technical books.
in his regards IMHO 1080p is alittle lacking for fans of ebook.

Also how does it compare to the Samsung S7 FE?
