This contains herbs in addition to the salt, so Lawry's recommends using within 450 days. Most folks would be better off with the 16oz size which is also on sale.

Do you use this as a regular salt or for spice?

I use it rather than using Lawry's Garlic Salt. It works good on savory dishes such as meat or can jazz up a salad by adding it on top before tossing. Similar to the infamous House of Prime Rib does on their tableside served dinner salad.

I got a cheap bottle of seasoned salt from Penzeys once and won't go back to Lawries. I have started making my own using this recipe:

I LOVE Penzeys. We have one near me. Sooo many quality spice choices. They come with a side of political sass.

The second ingredient is sugar, so not sure why you're getting the thumbs down. I know the sugar is there and use it to my advantage when I want something like a steak or pork chop to brown quickly without overcooking.

But would you be browning the steak or the sugar?
