Even though the 'easy blade change lever' or whatever they call it on this model breaks quickly it doesn't render the tool useless at all you just have to kinda manually release it, it's hard to explain but it's easily workable even with it broke. I honestly forget it's even "broke" because I'm so used to it at this point, it's really not a problem at all. I've had mine for years. I use it at least once a week. I highly recommend Diablo blades btw.

A jigsaw is almost like a tiny reciprocating saw where you hold it with the blade vertical, however you standard Sawzall is for bigger, rougher work such as demo or pruning and a jigsaw is for finer tasks like cutting curves. They both reciprocate but they have different purposes.
