They sell "factory blemished" which is new. Recon is reconditioned/used

Looks like it is the older version. The newer one you posted is more battery efficient according to the description.

I snagged the older one along with three other tools a bag and two batteries for $70 on the deal last week. It arrived appearing to be brand new.

I used this tool to remove a large stump. I left the trunk up and used a winch to put 2000 lbs of pull x 20 foot trunk equals 40,000 foot lb of torque on it. The roots were cut after being exposed with this Ryobi sawzall and 12" coarse bimetal blades from Harbor Freight. I tried the 10" pruning blades but they didn't work well and dulled quickly.

It can be done but takes some time and the snooty neighbors will view you differently.

It's definitely the quickest way if the tree doesn't have a tap root. Mine was a 60' Silver maple.

I love this tool. Price is pretty good for those who need it. I purchased it for a little cheaper in a bundle deal with their multi-tool for $70 total (so $35 for each tool). For those who just need this and the bundle I'm speaking of isn't available, (haven't checked honestly) then this seems like a great deal.
