The multi tool leaves a bit to be desired compared to the corded variants.

It's fine if you're just undercutting a door frame to slip flooring underneath or cutting drywall, but it will struggle with masonry and metal.

Yeah I found it to be pretty terrible on just about everything. I haven't tried swapping for higher quality blades, but I have a feeling it's the tool not the blades

I love just about every other one of my Ryobi tools, this one I just stopped using because it's so lackluster

Agree, the multi tool is only good for the following: cutting small branches, roots, drywall, plaster, and wood. No nails, wires, or metal parts. The included blades are awful but I don't think this is the right tool for anything beyond light duty.

In for one. Already have the jigsaw, but the oscillating tool definitely worth the cost after selling the extra jigsaw.

It cuts bolts just fine, if a little slow. It was way better than trying to use a hack saw with a 1" stroke while pulling up a toilet.

Is this two separate boxes, and possible to do the return hack? Or just one box with both. Already have the multi tool and am interested in a cheap jig saw.

Definitely the tool.

I have a Bauer 3amp corded model from Harbor Freight that runs circles around it.

In fact, I just used it this weekend to take out some stucco around an opening and it performed just as well as an angle grinder.

You can also get a jigsaw and angle grinder [homedepot.com] for $79

There's supposedly a ONE+ 18V Cordless 3-Tool Combo Kit Jig Saw, Trim Router, and Planer with Dust Bag (Tools Only) for $... [homedepot.com] but it is out of stock around me.
Thanks for this - wanted the jigsaw but have a corded multitool and didn't want another. A cordless grinder on the other hand would probably make some of my grinding tasks a lot easier.
