A camel told me this $39 price is an all-time-low. Lots of people seemed willing to pay $70-$100 for it based on historic prices. It's reported to be much better than the non-Surface version, which is $10 less at about $29 (but recently $25).

If you order, be careful of similiar priced options for used, and from a 3rd party supplier. Choose 'new' and sold by Amazon.com.

What advantage does it have compared to Logitech M720, which has a similar form factor and features?

The logitech one goes on sale at Costco and Sam's every few months for $25 online / $20 in-store

Changed the link so it goes to Amazon as the seller and not a banned merchant EEK!

Some differences which might be significant for some. The Microsoft has:

3200 dpi (vs. 1000 dpi)
Rechargable Lithium-Ion Battery (vs. 2AAs)

If those above options aren't worth it, then the scaled down version is on-sale for $29, but the Surface version seems to have a more premium feel.

Once the deal is expired by the MODS, they won't make it live again. You have to post it again.

Yes, indeed, Amazon.com seems to be the default seller now.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076KRHJ7B/

However, it often defaults to another (banned) dealer because they're able to ship now rather than the future.

So, maybe best just to leave this as-is until Amazon.com has its own stock for immediate shipments.
