I had an old french drain in the basement when I bought my house 2-3 years ago and it would overflow because it was just old and didn't drain properly causing my entire basement to flood to ankle-deep water. I used one of these to contain water into the trench until we replaced the foundation wall and waterproofed it properly but I'll be damned if this thing didn't save me hours of shop vac and anxiety every time it rained. It works, If you need it or think you might it does exactly what it claims I would recommend it.

FYI for those looking, "Reusable for one season IF left in place"

Still appears to be a good emergency product to have on hand with a five year + shelf life, in case of a weather flood alert this could save you from having water getting in flooding your home.

I'm on my third year using the same one during the California rainy season (Dec-Mar). I fold it up and pack it in a box after it's fully dried. That option may not be possible in humid environments.

Thanks! These are a much better option than filling sand bags before a hurricane! We've used for the last several years. I will say they are one and done because once wet, there's no drying them out to repackage

Good to know that you've gotten far more use out of it! The Amazon listing from the manufacturer themselves says one season. I'll definitely buy this now that I know it can last longer. Question @sdpennypincher is yours also 17' or smaller in size? I wonder if this longer one would tear when attempting to move it?

And for what it's worth, I average 60 inches of rain per year and this is placed in front of my garage door on a 30 ft driveway that slopes downward toward the garage....so it gets a good workout each year.

Built a small pond around a basement leak. Saved my whole basement from being flooded while I shop vacced hundreds of gallons and cleaned my gutters. Says not to leave in sun to dry, so 8 months later they still are not flat, but look to be so next time heavy rains comes around.

Is there a drain in front of the garage? I see many below-ground garages with sloping driveways and don't understand how they don't flood. I guess they do.

These have saved me numerous times. Highly recommend. As others have said, they're not really deflatable.

Likely they have french drain those little gates before the garage door, take water and siphon it off.

1950s home constructed before channel drains were commonplace.
